Today was the day. The day that the reunion tour of One Direction would kick off. It was the 5th of october and they would be on the road until late june next year excluding a short one week christmas break. Their very first show of the Freedom-Tour was in Sheffield, the arena that their last tour had ended in. 
                          
Currently it was five hours until stage time and the lads were already backstage, getting ready, greeting everyone of their crew, they had managed to get Lou Teasdale and Caroline Watson back on board, their musicians Sandy Beales, Josh Devine, Dan Richards and Jon Shone were as excited to be back as the lads themselves and couldn't wait to get on stage together again. The musicians from their solo projects were there as well and would be playing with them tonight. Their solo stylists had also agreed to come around and as the families of the boys were also backstage it was a perfect chaos but it was beautiful to have so many familiar faces around. Stagemanagers and catering people were working great and everything was set up as it should be. It was a huge crew-family backstage this evening but nobody wanted to miss anything. Even the 5 Seconds of Summer boys were there, alongside many other celebreties up in the VIP boxes. 
                          
After everyone was greeted and huged and everything was done so far, the five boys of One Direction went inside their dressing room to have a moment to themselves. They had all agreed to wear something white today, to showcase their newly won freedom. So Harry wore a white button-up shirt combined with some black but fancy suit-trousers and chelsea boots, Louis a white top and black comfy jeans and his vans as did Niall but he wore his converse and Liam and Zayn both wore white t-shirts and dark blue jeans, Liam wore his trainers and Zayn his new nikes. They all got their hair done and some make-up so they wouldn't sparkle under the stagelights and then sat back down to do some vocal warm ups with their vocal coach Helen. After they had finished that as well and they had already gotten their ear-pieces and mics, Liam spoke up. 
                          
"Right lads, tonight is going to be a good one, we'll have the time of our lives, enjoy every second of it and make it the best comeback any band has ever had, can we do that?!" he said and the other four nodded in agreement. 
"Amazing. Alright so let's get out there and just fookin' do it lads! And remember we're free...we can do whatever we want!" Louis said and as if to underline what his boyfriend had just said, Harry leaned forward to kiss him. 
"Yep, that's what we all thought" Niall commented and all of them laughed. "Ok i'm excited. Tonight's gonna be great, damn. I can't believe it, we're finally back and we're finally singing together again. On stage!" Zayn exclaimed and the others cheered. 
"That's right, Z! We are. And it took us a long way to get to this point but we made it here and we'll smash it tonight, right boys?!" Harry said and their collective answer was a synchronised "Yes!". 
"Stage time, guys!" Paul shouted and they quickly got together in a group hug. 
"Alright let's do it" "For the fans" For us" "Let's have a great time!" "Here we go!" they all mumbled and hugged tightly before they all let go. Their hands met in the middle of their tiny circle. 
                          
"Let's not keep them waiting!" "Right then, go!" "For old times sake?" "For old times sake!" "Ok let's go then. Kick it off, H". Harry nodded and grinned. 
"Ready?" he asked towards the workers of the technic section. They answered with "ready". "Alright then". 
The light of the camera showed that it was recording or better say broadcasting so the whole arena could see what was happening backstage right now. 
                          
"Hello!" 
"We" 
"Are" 
"One" 
"Direction!" 
"Yaaayyyy!" they all shouted in the end and then laughed and clapped their hands a few times and shouting "Let's go!" before taking their mics and running out onto the stage their first song already started playing and they all began to sing at the same time when fireworks exploded right above their heads. 
The crowd was going wild, the fans already screamed and shouted and sang along, cried, recorded, danced and even tough they had all grown up with the boys and most of them were older than just teenage girls or boys, the noise and the feeling and the adrenaline and energy was still the same as it was before and it was even better. 
That moment was pure gold and happiness for the five members of One Direction and they would surely never forget it. 
And if anyone had doubted them or their reunion they had been proven wrong right in this moment when every social media and internet platform shut down because it was simply overused and couldn't work as fast as news were being posted. 
                          
The boys had a wonderful evening and an amazing time on stage, they enjoyed every second of it, Louis and Harry were finally able to look at each other as much as they wanted to, they could interact on stage again, without having to fear consequences and they could even kiss each other in front of the whole crowd, which would be the point where everyone completely lost it. 
They all played guitar or piano during some songs, Liam did a bit of his beat boxing, they performed a few solo songs and their new album EP and their latest singles "Honest Truth" and "Freedom", which was also the name of their reunion tour. 
The last song they played was their first ever single "What Makes You Beautiful" and the crowd sang along to every word and note and lyric change. A fan project showed pictures of past moments and memories from their band life and music videos, interviews, concerts and whatever the fans had managed to find and it was a perfect and emotional way to end the night and to say goodbye to the fans for today. 
                          
Later that night when the boys all sat together in their tourbus and drank a couple beers they made a toast to their first and very successful show of their Freedom-Tour and hopefully many more to come. The tour had kicked off and i couldn't have been better. On their way to Manchester they all fell asleep and dreamed of the perfect concert they had just given. 
Little did they know what was going to happen the next day...
