Jun's playfulness continued as he squirmed out of his father's grasp and scuttled into Baekhyun's arms. The resolute toddler wanted to be carried, and Baekhyun didn't hesitate to oblige. Chanyeol, perplexed by his son's stubbornness, watched the scene unfold, bemused by Jun's determination.
Apologizing for the interruption, Chanyeol carried his son away from Baekhyun, who watched with a gentle smile. Chanyeol was thankful for Baekhyun's understanding and the way he handled Jun.
After this eventful meeting, Baekhyun left Chanyeol's house with a promise of further communication. As he stepped out, he prayed that Chanyeol would call him back; he desperately needed the job.
Upon returning home, Baekhyun was warmly welcomed by Mongie, his loyal puppy. Delighted to see her owner, Mongie's wagging tail and demands for attention warmed Baekhyun's heart. He pampered her and shared exciting news.
"Dad is so happy today. I got you your favorite food," Baekhyun cooed, showing her a special pack. Mongie's excitement was palpable as she barked joyously. Baby blue dog food used to be her favorite, but it had become a luxury due to Baekhyun's financial constraints. The two of them often shared the same meals, and this special treat brought extra delight.
Baekhyun served her the meal and watched her eat. Once she had finished, he decided to take a shower. By the time he returned, Mongie had quenched her thirst with water from
her bowl.
Sitting down in his modest kitchen, Baekhyun prepared a packet of instant ramen. As he savored the meal, he couldn't help but think about the events of the day.
Overwhelmed by exhaustion, Baekhyun made his bed and fell onto it. Despite his fatigue, Mongie found her way onto the bed, as usual, and cuddled beside him. She remained close, waiting until he was fast asleep before returning to her own bed on the floor.
Baekhyun, in his quiet room, began speaking to his beloved puppy. He shared the events of the day, reminiscing about the man he had met twice and the unforgettable connection between a father and son. Tears welled up as he revealed his hopes for the job and how it could change their lives, allowing him to settle his debts and provide better for Mongie.
Morning arrived quickly, and Baekhyun got ready for school. After attending to his daily routine, he headed to the university. There, he decided to wait for his friend, Jongin, to share the events of the previous evening. As soon as Jongin entered the school gates, Baekhyun pulled him aside urgently, wanting to confide in his friend.
Jongin was puzzled by the abrupt interruption. "What's wrong, Baekhyun?" he asked.
Baekhyun explained, "I have to tell you how my evening went."
"Can't we talk in class?" Jongin suggested. But Baekhyun insisted, "No, I don't want anyone else to hear this."
As the two friends found a more secluded spot to talk, Baekhyun began to recount the events, starting with the man he had chased after the previous day, who had provided him with the address for the nanny position.
"Hmm? What's up with him?" Jongin's question left Baekhyun flustered.
"It's not him. Guess who I met yesterday?"
Jongin raised an eyebrow, saying, "Come on, Baekhyun, you know I can't guess like you can. You've got a weird head." Jongin complained, and Baekhyun briefly considered giving him a playful smack. "Mr. big potato!"
