You watched Jean train the rest of the new recruits, something that you had been doing since you moved up a level with your training. Her powers were similar to hers so Professor X had assigned you as her shadow so you could see and learn from her. It worked at the beginning but ever since the two of you had grown much closer, it became much harder for you to actually concentrate on mastering your powers. Jean was clueless to it all but Professor X had taken notice. He called you to his office and basically told you that if you didn't get your feelings under control, he was going to have to reassign you with someone else. It bummed you out but he was right, you weren't going to learn if you couldn't pay attention.
"Class dismissed. Remember to send me a copy of the homework that I assigned to you last class. Continue practicing on levitating objects!"
Jean yells to them, knowing full well that they had stopped paying attention.
"I don't know why you even bother assigning them extra practice. As soon as they're out, they forget about the class."
"Well it doesn't hurt to try. Ready to go get lunch?"
"Always. I'm freaking starving."
Jean laughs as she takes her bag.
"Aren't you always?"

The two of you had gone to lunch and then separated for Jean to go to training and you to help out Storm with her class.
"You and (y/n), have been getting closer."
Scott tells Jean as they fight together to take down the practice robots.
"Yeah, she's opened up to me a lot. We've gotten closer ever since she arrived."
"Don't you think it's a little weird that she's only opened up to you? She hardly acknowledges the rest of the team?"
'I wouldn't look too much into it, Scott. It just takes time to get to know her a little."
Scott turns of the simulation to properly talk to Jean.
"All I'm saying is that somebody has a crush on you Jean. Otherwise, she would've abandoned us the moment that Charles finished the tour."
"You're being ridiculous. She doesn't have a crush on me."
Jean says with no bite behind her words. She had her suspicious but she just passed it off as her imagination.

After her talk with Scott, Jean had paid more attention to you and how you acted around her. She ended up seeing that you were obviously much more open to her but that wasn't a surprise, Jean knew that from the beginning. What confirmed her suspicious was how you would always think of a way to spend time with her, whether it was an excuse for extra training or because she wanted to help you out.
"(y/n), could I talk to you for a second."
You nod and make your way over after explaining to the new recruits about what they needed to practice.
"What's up, Jean? Are we changing the lesson?"
"No, I just wanted to tell you something funny that Scott brought up to me. He said that you had a crush on me?"
Jean laughs as she says it but then stops when she sees that you're not laughing.
"Is it true?"
"Y...yeah."
Jean's breath hitches as she hears the truth from you. She had expected you to lie but here you were, telling her the truth. She walked up to you and lifted your head up to meet her eyes.
"You can stop me at any time."
She whispers to you before she slowly leans in to kiss her. The two of you get lost in the kiss and only pull away when there's cheering and clapping heard.
"About time! Does that mean we get to leave early! Wooo! Go Ms. Grey! Hell yeah, (y/n)!"
Are a few of the things that you were able to catch as the new recruits cheered you on.
"Alright! If you don't want to stay for another hour for practice, I suggest you quit it and go back to practicing with each other!"
They all let out a simultaneous groan but go back to what they had been doing.
"I thought you were going to be nicer, Ms. Grey!"
"You're staying for another hour!"
You let out a laugh and shake your head.
"How about we just let it go for now? We're going to have to thank Scott for practically making use reveal how we feel and I'm not looking forward to it. Our only advantage is that he things I hate him."
