Kise stood on the court and continued to stare at Haizaki's back before Kasamatsu walked over and suddenly elbowed him in the stomach.
"Wha-?! What are you doing?!"
"Your face looks stiff. I don't know what kind of history you share, but just play your basketball. Don't let him screw with your pacing."
Kasamatsu made sure Kise was calm before looking at the rest of his team.
"Okay, I'll be her hero today."
"I'll do (my) best! I (won't) lose in (re)bounds!"
Seeing Hayakawa continue to slap his own face and Moriyama check out girls in the stand, Kise sweatdropped while Kasamatsu felt irk marks coming onto his face.
"Well, those guys take things at their own pace way too much."
As the referee blew his whistle, the tip off began and the game started. As Kobori won in the tip off, Hayakawa caught the ball and quickly passed to Kasamatsu. Catching the pass, he was going to pass to Kise when he saw Haizaki block him from doing so.
As expected, their defense isn't absolute crap either... Then...
Passing the Fukuda player, Kasamatsu passed the ball backwards to Kobori without looking back. Catching the pass, Kasamatsu was able to move to the inside and Kobori passed the ball back to the captain, who performed a lay up. Kaijo cheered as they were able to be the first one to score in the match.
As Fukuda did the throw-in, Haizaki held the ball and was quick to pass by Kasamatsu. Attempting to block Haizaki, Kise was surprised by how agile he was.
F-Fast! In a different league from then!
Shoving his own teammates to the side, Haizaki was about to dunk the ball in when Kise had jumped and succesfully blocked the player from doing so. Getting ready for the next play, Haizaki walked over to his senpai and slapped him as he complained that he had slowed him down.
Everyone in the stadium couldn't believe that the player had just hit someone older than him. Kasamatsu, who is strict about hierarchy on the team, couldn't help but feel his temper be tested.
"Hanamiya from Kirisaki Daiichi was an asshole but still functioned as the team's pivotal member. He doesn't even have a shred of team play... He's the type I hate the most."
Stealing the ball during a pass between the Fukuda players, Kobori passed the ball to Kasamatsu. Running to their basket, Kasamatsu stopped when Haizaki suddenly blocked him.
"I'll tell you one thing. A senpai is to be respected!"
Passing by Haizaki with a quick drive, Kasamatsu jumped and was about to shoot the ball when Haizaki blocked him once more.
"Don't try to lecture me, idiot!"
"Who's the idiot here?"
Instead of releasing the ball, Kasamatsu brought the ball back to his chest before passing it to Kise, who jumped and dunked the ball into their basket. Performing a fast break, the Fukuda players ran across the court and made it to their basket. Hayakawa jumped to block, but with the Fukuda player performing a scoop shot, the player failed to block and Fukuda was able to score two points.
Holding the ball in his possession, Kise copied the scoop shot and scored two points for Kaijo. Getting ready for the next play, Kise and Haizaki glared at each other as they stood their ground.
"Why don't you come at me more seriously? Or was that just talk earlier?"
"Seriously, it's impossible to get along with you after all. Because your style is awfully similar to mine, ya know?"
