Sonic was riding on the wing of the plane while Tails was flying it to check out the threatened village (which you would know about from the last chapter).
Sonic: I never got to ask, what was the village that we're checking out anyway?
Tails: I think it might be Spiral Hills! (Tangle's Hometown)
Sonic: If it's that bad enough for Tangle and Whisper to handle on their own then it must be serious.
Meanwhile with Tangle and Whisper, they actually wasn't there to handle the baniks since she doesn't know about it and then on top of it where trying to see the Chaotix.
In the Chaotix's detective office, Vector was on his desk listening to his music while Espio was in the corner until Charmy burst into the room. (Like the opening scene in Sonic Heroes with the Chaotix's story)
Charmy: Guys!!! Guys!!!
Then Charmy crashed into Vector when he landed on his nose.
Vector: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!
Charmy: We got another case and at the same time someone wants to speak with you!
Vector: Well who is it!?
Then Tangle stepped into the room with Whisper.
Vector: Why if it isn't Tangle the lemur and Whisper Wolf! What owes me the pleasurer of having you to here?
Whisper: There's no need for formalities, Vector.
Tangle: Oh! Right... I have a case for you guys and I'll pay you... (convincing tone)
Vector: (Immediately said...) Well in that case what's the... uh case.
Tangle: Well I've been wondering who was my parents since all I remember is that I only spent my childhood with my best friend Jewel and so I want to know my family name! Or my last name for short.
Vector: Hmm... Well this is a tough question to solve...
Charmy: I do know that my last name is Bee.
Vector: Shut it, Charmy! This isn't about you! It's about our client!
Tangle: Uh... you can just call me Tangle instead of that fancy detective words. Anyway, see you guys later!
As Tangle and Whisper left, Espio looked at Vector.
Espio: How do you expect us to solve this case, Vector.
Vector: Espio! You know our policy: we never turn down work that pays!
Charmy: (enthusiastically) Yeah! You know our policy!
Vector: And besides, we'll find a way since we always do. Somehow...
Though with Tangle and Whisper...
Tangle: Huh... I got a message from Tails.
Whisper: What about?
Tangle: ...
Whisper: What is it?
Tangle: (worred) We got to go now! Spiral Hills is under attack!
