seventeen: the bite
It was eleven o'clock by the time that the assembly ended. And I still hadn't met the entire pack!
Aden held my hand as we made our way to our rooms. He insisted that we both go to his room to hang out since we haven't had any alone time yet. I rolled my eyes at his horny joke but agreed to hang out with him.
His room was exactly how I imagined it: messy, dark, and cluttered.
"Did you try to clean?" I laughed at him. He looked at me with puppy eyes and caused me to laugh even more. "I'm going to take that as a no."
"Well your room is only clean because it's new," he tried.
"And?" I laughed. I flopped on his bed and smiled at the smell of burned wood and grass. "What cologne do you use? I've never smelled one like it."
It was his turn to laugh, "I don't use cologne. You're smelling is the mate bond. It gets stronger after you're marked."
"Do I smell like that?"
"No, you smell like a hot spring day. A mixture of lemon and lavender," he smiled.
"Oh, you smell like burning wood and grass," I confessed. "What do you mean marked though? You said it'll get stronger once I'm marked?"
"Uh," Aden scratched the back of his neck. "Well, it's called marking. It's kind of like when dogs pee to mark their territory. Instead of peeing, we wolves bite our mates to show that they've taken. Like a ring, without a ring."
"Bite? You're gonna have to bite me? Does it hurt?"
"Yeah, eventually I will have to mark you to properly secure the mate bond. I've been told it hurts a little, but then it feels good," he tried to explain.
"Do you bite me like a vampire in movies?" I laughed.
Aden dismissed me with a click of his tongue, but laughed along with me, "yeah, but no. It's more intimate, like a hickey."
I thought about it for a while and decided to ask him. I rather deal with the pain now than know I'll have to be in pain in the future. I'll just rip the bandaid off now. "Can you mark me now so I don't have to deal with it later?" I asked quickly.
Aden's eyes widened to the size of saucers, "w-what?"
"I rather deal with the pain now than later. It'll be like ripping off a bandaid right?" I tried to convince myself.
"But it's permanent. You'll have to be with me here forever," he confirmed.
"I mean, I guess I planned on it. I mean Belle is here and I accepted being a Luna. The last step is being marked right?"
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Yes," I breathed. Aden quickly sat on the bed with me and looked into my eyes as if he was waiting for any sign of uncertainty.
The more he waited, the more I began to doubt myself. I wanted to do this. This is my life, I make the decisions. I grabbed his face and pushed my lips onto his. His hands quickly found my waist and held me steady. This time, instead of his nipping at my lips, I nipped at his.
He opened his mouth allowing me to deepen the kiss. Tingles ran up and down my body as he pushed me slowly onto the bed. My mind raced with a million things but they all disappeared once he started to kiss down my neck. Everything was going in fast forward at a million miles a minute. I ran my hands through his hair and smiled at the sparks that erupted where he kissed.
I felt him leave actual hickeys down my the left side of my neck over my collarbones. He pulled back from my neck and I felt myself whimper at the lack of heat. He smiled softly, his eyes flashing from the light hazel that I love to the bright yellow of his wolf. "Are you sure you want to do this, Charlotte?" he checked.
