Hi guys! This is the last part of the Halloween chapters. Enjoy!
So much had happened within the past hour. Sophie had explained to her friends what had happened when she was separate from them and the whole "almost dying" incident. Immediately, the gang went to the people in charge and turned the man in. Apparently, the guy snuck in the Haunted house and pretended to work there just so he could have the perfect chance to harm kids.
The friends decided that they would not tell their parents about the incident, afraid they would never be able to hang out again, and they would just go to the after party at the Vackers as if nothing had happened.
But something did happen.
The worst part about the whole situation was that Grady was right and Sophie just shut him down earlier as if what he said didn't matter. But it did matter.
He was right.
Sophie now considered carrying a metal bat with her at all times, like Grady had said.
Before Sophie knew it, she was at the Vackers house and the party had started. Not only was the gang there, but almost all of the kids that went to Foxfire.
Sophie was a bit disappointed that it wasn't just a small party with just her friends, but Sophie would deal with it.
Sophie was impressed. The Vackers had done a fine job of decorating the house with spooky attire. Inside, it was dark with thousands of orange fairy lights and colored smoke to light up the place. The dessert table was loaded with all of the deserts you could think of. There were also scary pranks set up everywhere to bring out a scare or two every once in a while. Sophie definitely did not scream at the top of her lungs when she thought a real spider jumped on her face. Sophie suspected that they hired Keefe to be in charge of all that.
Sophie hadn't seen any of her friends since the party had started.
Sophie, not knowing what else to do, made her way to the dessert table. Instantly she ran for the Mallowmelt and grabbed a piece. Or 2...maybe 3...OKAY 4! SHE GRABBED 4!
As Sophie was scarfing down the food, something from behind grabbed Sophie's shoulder.
"AAAAAHHHH!" Sophie screamed as memories from a few hours ago came back. Several heads turned to stare at her.
"Foster, it's me! No need to go all crazy there," Keefe said, smirking.
Sophie flushed, feeling like a fool. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm a little... different after today," Sophie said, hiding behind her hair.
Keefe's face turned serious. "It's okay, I get it."
"Thanks," Sophie mumbled, not sure what else to say.
"I see you already found the Mallowmelt," Keefe said, changing the subject.
"Yeah," Sophie said, laughing.
Keefe smirked as he reached over to grab a piece of his own. "You know, we need to still get revenge on everyone today."
"You're right! But, I think we should wait it out a bit until everyone gets settled in."
"There you go Foster, being all logical," Keefe said.
Sophie rolled her eyes. "Someone has to be."
"And that's why I'm here to add a bit fun in your life. Whether you want to admit it or not Foster, you need me," Keefe said as he put his arm around her shoulders.
Sophie instantly blushed, especially when a group of girls walking by saw and glared at her. "No! You need me!" Sophie said back.
"No, we need each other," Keefe said, locking his eyes with Sophie. And then it happened again.
