— seonghwa —

He waited by the front door as his daughter rushed around the living room to tidy up her pencils. Seonghwa had done his best to raise her with the attitude that you can't leave the house messy simply because you couldn't be bothered to clean your mess.

Aurora seemed to treat it as a game, yelling out with joy as she counted each pencil before placing them back into her pencil case. Before too long she was done. She grabs her stuff toy from the floor and rushes over to her father.

Looking up at him with a huge grin, Seonghwa takes a full realisation to her crooked high ponytail. He was yet to master the art of doing her hair. Whilst it not being in the centre bothered him, he didn't have time to fix it nor did he really know how.

"Out to the car we go," He smiles genuinely as he pulls open the door, allowing for the young girl to run out into the corridor. He holds her backpack in one hand, his own back slung over his shoulder before leaving the apartment and locking the door.

The elevator ride was relatively quick. They reached the car park in no time at all. After placing the bags on the empty backseat, Seonghwa refocuses his attention on securing Aurora into the booster seat.

Once he is in the drivers seat himself, he checks his mirrors before meeting his daughter's gaze through the rear view mirror.

"We all set?" He asks the beloved question.

"Go!" She yells out with immense joy.

Seonghwa only grins in adoration as he pulls out of the parking lot and begins the drive to his parent's home. Pulling into the driveway, he places the car into park before getting out to assist his daughter in leaving the vehicle.

She only giggles as he tickles her slightly whilst undoing her buckle. As she steps out onto the ground, he hands her the backpack before crouching to press a kiss to her forehead.

"Say hi to Grandma and Grandpa for me," He remarks softly. "I'll see you tonight."

"Okay," Aurora nods firmly. "I love you, Daddy!"

"I love you to the moon and back, sweetheart," Seonghwa pinches her cheek before standing again.

She turns and begins the run over to the front door. Once her father has watched her safely enter the home, he gets back into his car and leaves.

Today was going to be quite tiring, both mentally and physically. his second appointment with Jaeyi was this afternoon. Before attending this he was required to work a four hour shift at his part time job as a barista before teaching a lecture at the university where he worked. He was used to having such a heavy workload. Following his divorce with Jane, he was the sole person who brought money in to keep Aurora fed and to keep a roof over their heads.

He was able to quickly obtain a part time career making coffees whenever he wasn't teaching lectures. It didn't pay super well but it was enough.

Arriving at the cafe, he was quite surprised to see the morning rush had already begun. There was only one other staff member behind the counter with another rapidly trying to take orders from tables. They immediately looked relieved to see their coworker walking in.

"It's absolutely nuts in here, Seonghwa," The other barista calls out. "We need you making coffees, stat."

"I'll just put my things away and clock on, then I'll be right there, Woo," Seonghwa hurries out the back and does what he said before rushing back out onto the floor. He doesn't notice his badge being almost vertical as he begins to make orders.
