‘Aria, Aria, Ariaaaaa?’ I heard his voice and I just wanted him to leave me alone. He was shaking me ever to slightly thinking I was actually sleeping. How could I sleep when he told me something like that? I ever so slightly opened my eyes, and found myself staring into his beautiful blue eyes.
‘Aria, your awake, I have been waiting for you’‘For what?’
‘Well no reason really, I just I think I missed you…’ he cheeks rose to a pale pink. I started giggling, even if I don’t know him I really hope I do. It only just occurred to me that we were in the middle of nowhere.
‘Where are we?’‘Wow, you really don’t remember anything…’
‘WHY!’ I don't know why I am suddenly yelling, why the frustration is overwhelming, and I begin to feel tears welting in my eyes. He chuckles under his breath as if this is funny, yesterday he didn't think that.
‘This isn’t funny’ I was trying to hide the fact that my voice was shaking.‘Aria, calm down its all gonna make sense we just have to wait. And I’m willing to wait forever for you.’
I felt my cheeks fluster bright red, he was giggling at me I could tell. I sat up quickly and pushed him over, and his body weight shifted unto the ground he grabbed my arms and rolled us both onto the ground. He held my body pushed against his my lying on his tone body. Our eyes were locked, and I felt a sudden shock inside my stomach. His hand cupped my face and slightly tucked my hair behind my ear. His hand still resting on my check he smiled. This felt so right and I just wanted him to hold me like this forever, but I knew we couldn't. His smile dropped and could see I wasn't happy. I roll off and lay onto the ground next to him, he sits up and I can feel him looking at me. I don't return the look, I can’t face him. I roll over facing my back towards him.
‘What’s up? There is something wrong with you today.’
‘You can’t do this to me. Tell me I don't remember you and then act like nothing’s wrong! I get this feeling around you that I cant explain… I know you and I know that but where and why don't I know, I’m just to confused.’ I feel the tears coming back, but I don't want him to realize, he wipes the tear away with thumb.
‘I know, this must be frustrating for you and I understand.’
‘Then why are you doing this to me!’ the tears have started rolling down my cheeks. He grabs me by the waist and pulls me into his body, my head nestles into his neck. He continues to comfort me for a while until I stop crying.
‘Aria, listen I care about you I will stop acting like this around you.’ My head still nestled into his neck I nod and I can tell he felt it.
‘I’m just going to go for a walk.’ I pull myself away from his body, never wanting to let go. I clear my mind trying to think where I know him. I feel like I have been walking for a while, I have being walking through the same paddock full of small little pink flowers, swaying into the breeze and dancing to the sounds of the bush on either side. I sit down resting on the small flowers, as they dance besides me unaware of my appearance. I close my eyes trying to clear my mind, and think where I know him. The frustration grows as every minute passes, I can feel the tears forming once more, but I’m not letting myself cry. The frustrating disappears and an faint image appears. The image is filled with colour, greens and blues. The skies as blue as the little boys eyes. Wait. The eyes. The blue. No it cant be. A little boy and a young girl are running along a river, the reeds tickling their legs as the jump back and forth over the bank the mud squishing in between the tiny little toes. They are laughing and giggling. No-ones around it’s just them, no family, no parents or other kids. Just them alone. The image is beginning to fade and flash I try to hold on to this perfect small image but sadly it fades.
I begin to run, the image of the small kids racing through my mind it couldn't be him could it? It has to be. The eye’s. They wouldn't leave my mind the same crystal blue eyes that belong to Tyler belong to that little boy.
‘Aria!’ I had ran straight past him.
‘Tyler! Tyler!’ I try to yell without sounding as tired as I am.
‘Yes calm down, what?’ he chuckled and rolled his eyes at my excitement not knowing what I had just experienced.
‘I remembered!’ I shout while I jumped into him and wrapped my arms around him. He caught me almost knocking him off his feet.
‘Slow down, what are you talking about?’
‘I saw us, well I think it was us, two small kids running through paddocks and bush and rivers and laughing but just the two of us, no-one else was around’ all of this escaped my mouth so quickly I’m surprised he understood what I said.
‘Aria, I remember that day. I think that was us. Aria! Do you know what this means?’ his face lite up and I could see the excitement on his face.‘Tyler, I know.’ I smiled as he placed me down. My eyes wondered to the floor, saddened by why I only got this image why couldn't I have seen something more important. He wraps his arms around my waist interrupting my thoughts. He pulls my body onto his, feeling his body heat our faces millimeters away from each other. I turn away and push my body away from his.
‘Oh right, I’m sorry I forgot’ he blushed.
‘No, well yea… um.’
‘Come for a walk? Hey?’ He grabbed my arm and led me towards the sound of the birds chirping and the river flowing. We wondered for a while, me following his lead.
‘Where are we going?’
‘Just wait’ he had a slight grin on his face, I kinda liked it.
