Kaia's POV
It's been 2 weeks since Xavier and I signed our rules of engagement contract and I felt at ease. We both agreed that we would live life as usual and stop avoiding each other. He has since rekindled his relationship with Maia, allowing me to continue my friendship.
Of course I feel terrible sneaking around with her brother but for once there's an aspect in my life that is pure happiness. I haven't felt this way since my father was still around.
I've been seeing him smile and enjoy himself more often which comforts the both of us. I believe that he's on a road to finding his true potential. He's been spending a lot of time working on Carter Enterprises and reestablishing everything. I'm happy where we're at. I just hope it last.
Xavier's POV
Look at how beautiful she is. Kaia was currently siting across from me and Maia laughing at her own joke. When she laughs her eyes somewhat disappear and it might be one of the cutest things I've witnessed.
Her jet black curls where in a ponytail and two long strands of hair defined her face. Her skin was gorgeous. Soft at the touch and even smoother when you rubbed it. 2 weeks of her. 2 weeks of her being mine. 2 weeks of the demons inside of me at rest. 2 weeks of Playboy Carter in absolutely no affect. And I vow that the only times he will make an appearance is for Kai's sake.
I've experienced more joy in the past two weeks than I have in the last 5 years. 5 years ago my grandfather left me. The man that gave my father live was more giving than his son; the man that gave me life. That year the earth shattered. But all the moments and memories that I have with him up to that point are nothing but the best.
That feeling of joy and having someone cherish you and your presence was finally back all thanks to her. Kaia. Sanders. Hopefully Carter one day, if I'm lucky.
The sound of ringing interrupted my lovely thoughts.
"I'll catch up with you guys in the parking lot after." Maia made her way to Chem and Kaia joined me to our business course. I managed to convinced to take Principles of Business with me.
"I seriously have no intent on ever studying business Xavier. Nor being a business owner. You already know my major is Criminal Justice. I hate the stupid ass teacher too." She scrunched her pretty features at me.
"I know sweetheart but it could be useful." I kissed the tip of her nose. She slapped my lips in response.
"What if someone sees and tells your sister. Then both of our asses will be in shit." I groaned annoyed I couldn't show off any PDA.
"Don't scrunch those lips at me. Makes me wanna kiss you."
The class went on as usual me throwing paper balls at Kaia, ruffling up her hair, and drawing "Xavier was here" and "King Xavier" all her notebook.
"Mr. Carter! I wouldn't suppose you'd mind sharing with the class what's so amusing in Ms. Sanders notebook?"
Kaia's face beamed red. She hatted being apart of my antics.
"Well you see sir, I just thought it was hilarious that Ms. Sanders here was scribbling in her notebook that Xavier is the best POB student in Marina High." I shrugged my shoulders and earned some chuckles.
Kaia punched my shoulder and rush to defend herself. "Mr. Smith I really did-"
"All right Xavier, if you're all that she says you are you wouldn't mind coming up and presenting your business proposal now would you."
