Still quin's pov*
When we arrived at Emma's house I saw an ambulance and josh on the porch with his knees to his face I looked at Emma she ass still sound asleep. I jumped out " josh what happened, are you ok" I saw he had blood on his hands and on his shirt. " no I'm not ok Quinton that psycho dad of Emma's broke in and started shooting. He ended up shooting our mom and.. where is Emma" " she fell asleep in the car I did not want to wake her up yet" 
" quin his after her shes not safe here neither am I I dont know what to d- " stay at my house. I'm sure my mom wont mind" he got up and went inside I followed him " well you go to Emma's room and grab her suitcase out of the closet " " you guys had them pre packed" " my mom always had them pre packed" I nodded and went to her room grabbed it and went back downstairs. I sat on the steps confused. I pulled her close and held her tightly. 
                          
Emma's pov* 
I woke up in quinton's car but Quinton was gone. I looked put the window. Why was I home and still in the car and why was there an ambulance outside. I stepped out of the car and slowly walked to the door I saw blood in the wall and the floor I sat on the stairs outside. I slowly let my emotions slip away from me. I was blank. Next thing I know I was in quinton's arms and josh walking up behind him " em we are staying at Quintons for awhile. I know you dont like changes and I know it's not something you'd want to hear. But it just for now" I looked at josh who had tears forming in his eyes and blood on his once white shirt I pulled away from Quinton and ran to josh " josh what happened why do you have blood on your hands what happened that we have to leave and where is mo- I cut myself off when I realized what happened. I fell to my knees and let every last emotion flow out of me " Emma we need to leave before he comes back " I nodded and slowly got up. I walked to quintons truck and josh went to his car. Quinton got in " Emma are you ok" I just blankly stared at him then turned my head back to the house in front of me. I felt him grab my hand then interlocked our fingers then looked me in my eyes. " Emma I'm here" with that he put his car in reverse. Josh was following close behind us. The whole drive he didnt let go of my hand. I finally held his back and he looked over long enough to give me a warm smile then he turned back to the road. We pulled up to his house he got out then I got out. Josh pulled in and followed us into the house " mom I'm home" " oh hey sweet- josh Emma are you 2 ok" I just looked down the Quinton grabbed my hand " no mom they arent and they need somewhere to stay for awhile, so can they stay here" " for as long as they need." She looked from me to josh " our home is your home " she smiled and walked off. " josh can have the quest room and Emma you can stay on the my bed and I'll sleep on the couch in my room " I just looked at josh who had tears forming in his eyes. " joshie it's ok everything well be ok we will be fine" I called him joshie when I was younger. He looked at me " Emma you have been my backbone since you were able to talk. I love you little sis" I smiled. " i love you too big bro" Quinton showed me to his room and josh to the guest room. I sat on his bed and stared it his walls. I layed back and slowly closed my eyes drifting into a deep sleep. 
                          
Time skip* 
I work up around 3am. Quinton and on the couch on his phone " quin" " Emma are you ok" " I uh yea. But you dont have to sleep on the ccouch your bed has room for two" " I know I just dont want to crowd you" " no it's fine I'd feel safer with someone with me. When I was little and my mom and dad would be fighting josh would lay with me" he got up and walk over to the bed and layed down holding his arms out with a stupid big smile. " come here then" I smiled and layed my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around me. " thanks quin. For everything " " no Emma thank you for still being strong even with all this" I drifted back to sleep. 
                          
Quintons pov* 
I watch Emma as she sleep. She kept flinching then she whimpered a few times. I held her tighter. Soon after she stopped moving I fell asleep, still not letting my grip loosen. 
When the sun sstarted beaming through my window I opened my eyes and saw a still sleeping and beautiful girl in my arms I slowly loosened my grip and got out of bed. I went down stairs and josh and my mom were at the table " good morning son. " " morning mom, morning josh" " morning is Emma up yet " " no she had a hard time sleeping last night tho" I fixed my bowl of cereal. A loud bang came from upstairs I locked eyes with josh then bolted upstairs. I busted through my door I saw Emma her knees to her forehead and her phone across the room. Josh followed in " Emma what happened talk to me please. Look at me" josh rushed to her. I picked up her phone to see what could've happened. I saw a post from some madi girl I assumed it was payton's ex. It was a picture of her and payton she was kissing his cheek and he was smiling. He caption said. " the hoe Hop's again, but this time with my boyfriend. Damn she never learns" I clenched my jaw knowing they arent together and her getting hated on for no reason. I looked at josh who had Emma in his arms her head tucked into her neck. I felt her pain. I didnt even know why she just gave me a weird inner connection I went over to her and josh. " Quinton can you watch over her today. I promise nessa we would go out today" " hell yea. I'd love to hang out with her for the day" josh smiled and slowly letting go of a puffy eyed girl with a slight smile. " Quinton you have someone at the door honey " " ok I'm coming mom " me and josh walked out of the room together Emma stayed in the room. Once me and josh got down stairs I saw cynthia and nessa sitting on the couch talking. I made eye contact with cynthia and slowly looked away. " hey baby" she walked over to me. " cynthia I already told you we broke up. In fact you broke up with me. What are you doing here anyways" " I came to see you silly.i figured we could you know get back together" " um no I like someone who live in nc with me. She us the most beautiful girl ever. Plus I'm over you" " yea yea who could me prettier then me" I looked towards the stairs and saw the ends of Emma's hair turn and I heard her footsteps going back to my room. I turned to cynthia and pointed towards to front door she scoffed and left throwing her hair over her shoulder 
                          
Emma's pov* 
I heard a girls voice iI knew I wasnt nessa's so i creeped down the stairs and saw s ok me girl flirting with Quinton. It really hurt when he said " I like a girl who live here in nc. She is the most beautiful girl in the world" i honestly thought he might like me. Well I guess I was wrong. I went back to his room and layed down with my face in his pillow and let the tears fall. Something I need to do for awhile now. I heard the door open and I felt the weight shift on the bed " Emma I heard a soft voice come from beside me I looked and quin was laying next to me his eyes on me. " what's wrong em? Dont tell me nothing I know something is wrong" " well I kinda caught feelings for this really great guy but he likes someone else and I'll never be as pretty as her and- " Emma you are the prettiest girl I've ever met dknt think like that and if I'm being honest I kinda feel the same way about this one girl but I just dont know how to tell her" " just be honest quin that's all you have to do" he smiled at me so I smiled back. I reacted my head near his chest and drifted back to sleep. I heard a faint voice " I love you Emma " I smiled in my sleep.
