===Jack===

It's been years since the Guardians defeated Pitch, and I became a permanent member of the Guardians. And since I don't have a permanent place of residence where I can hang when I'm all done spreading winter and fun, I got to the Workshop -since Christmas and Winter always go together.

North was kind enough to give me my own wing at the workshop -the Frost Wing as I like to call it. That's where I stay if I wanna just chill -no pun intended -after doing all my duties as a guardian. But, most of the time, I go where the wind takes me. Usually Burgess, but, I like traveling someplace new.

As of the moment, I'm at the workshop. Trying to take a crack at making ice sculptures of my own. I've been growing really bored lately since it's summer, so I've been looking for a new hobby. The sculpture I'm making is a.... okay, I don't even know what the hell it even is.

"Oh, I give up." I grumble out loud as I tossed my worthless creation in the trash.

As my eyes wandered around the room, three ice dioramas in a hidden corner of North's office caught my eye.

One was in a village, four scrawny boys running away from, what I can tell, is trouble. Looks like these for had a little too much fun. Coming from me, that's something.

Another was a girl, befriending a dragon. She was pretty, I'll admit, but a little too young. The dragon looke like it had metal scales or something, and that's pretty cool.

The last one was two girls, who looked like sisters. They were playing in the snow, and the eldest looked like... she had winter powers -like he does. And they looked so happy.

"What are you looking at there, Jack?" North's booming voice with a think Russian accent brought me back to reality.

"Hey, North."I greeted him, my eyes still on the last diorama.

"Ahh I see you found them." He said to me as he sat down and munched on the cookies he brought with him.

"What are they?" I asked.

"They are... what you say.... the children whom I consider as greatest achievement as guardian." He replied as he stood up, walked to me and explained each diorama.

"This one," He pointed to the one with the four boys, "are sons of chiefs, and yet considered as village runts -embarassments. Everyday, they lose hope as they grew up. And the four of us did everything we could to still keep their childhood happy. And, now, they are considered as great heroes and people treat them with loyalty and respect."

Okay, that's pretty cool.

"And this," He pointed to the girl with the dragon, "She was banished from her island as a baby. She was the daughter of a great leader, and she was supposed to marry a chief's son to strengthen bonds. But, she was thrown out to sea tk stop it from happening. She was then adopted by a nice couple, but she never felt like she fit in with other kids. The four of us led her to a dragon -a friend whom she can blossom into the courageous and beautiful young woman she is now."

"Finally, the one that caught your eye" North said as he pointed to the one with the two sisters, " the eldest has been blessed by the spirits of nature with the magic of ice and snow. Pitch feeded off her fear the most as she grew up -the fear of hurting anyone with her powers. It started when she did it accidentally to her sister. And she locked herself from the world, and her sister, to control them. She is our biggest accomplishment. Both of them, really. We warded off Pitch through her sister, and after a great winter and her sister almosy dying, she pull through. Now, she's the Fifth Spirit of Nature, Protector of an Enchanted Forest and Keeper of a Magical Island." North finished.

Why did those stories struck me so much, the last one most of all? Maybe it's because its of a girl who became a spirit and has the power to wield winter -just like me. But, there was something else about it. Something that was tugging at my heart, pushing me to know more.

Underestimated, abandoned, alone, overlooked, unseen, avoided. It was checking all the right boxes.

"Do you know where they are?" I asked him.

He raised his white bushy eyebrows at me, his blue eyes frightfully suspicious, as if I was gonna do something that was definitely in my nature.

"What are you getting at, Jacky?"

I just raised my hands in defense and casually said, "Nothin'. Nothin'. Just... curious, that's all."

He still wasn't buying it. Knowing me, I wouldn't either.

"Uh huh. You're not planning on paying them a little visit, are you?" His eyes not letting up for even a second.

I tried coming up with an excuse, but I knew better than to lie to North. That guy is as terrifying as he is awesome.

"Okay, fine. I'm going to them. I know that it's little risky since it's in territory I've never explored before. But, they won't even see or hear me, so what's the harm? I'll be in and out as fast as a blizzard wind in Scandanavia." I assured him.

He stared me down, those bushes over his eyes still raised. But, I stood my ground -even though I was floating in his office.

"Come on, please North? I promise I'll behave." I said with an innocent smile.

"Ugh, Jackson Overland Frost. Three Hundred years old and still acting like a child." He groaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I wouldn't be the Guardian of Fun if I weren't." I said proudly.

"Ugh, fine. You can go to them. But, after your guardian duties. And you leave tomorrow. The security system is live and can't be taken down now." North said, and I backflipped in triumph.

"Thank you, Santa Claus." I thanked him as I strutted out of his office happily.

"Keep eye out for Phil, he's on Nightwatch tonight." North hollered after me and I hollered an okay and good night as I walked to my Wing.

But, I couldn't sleep. I was too excited.

A whole new adventure for me is coming tomorrow. A Spirit of Nature, Four Sons of Chiefs and a Dragon Girl. I'm fully aware that they won't be able to see me. I am a spirit of childhood - a  semi-corporeal being :Can bump into things, but people go through me if they don't believe in me. And yet, a part of me wishes that they do see me.

300 years have passed for me. It's time for a new adventure for this immortal winter spirit of fun. After all, every adventure is the definition of fun.
