Snotlout glared at him as Heather shook him off.
"If you'll excuse me," astrid said. "I need to let my uncle know i'm okay."
"Wait, wait, wait. You don't get to leave without an explanation as to why you two disappeared" Gobber said, waddling over.
"I...um..." Astrid stuttered.
"I know what they did." Tuffnut announced.
"And what is that?" Hiccup asked, folding his arms.
"They did the dirty deed." He announced and everyone went quiet.
Hiccup stared at him questionably. "No..."
He was interuoted by Astrid punching him square in the nose. He crumpled under her hand, grasping his now bloody and broken nose.
"First of all." Astrid said. "That is none of you business and two, no we did not. I took Hiccup away to talk about his father, now i will be going." With that she left through the crowd.
Tuffnut stood up, wiping the blood from his face. "Do it again!"
Everyone shook their heads.
Valka ran up to hiccup and hugged him. "Why does it matter? 'Hiccup' is back."
"I am back...and ready to take on the task of running Berk. No more grief, no more sorrow (i've paid for your mistakes! Lol :) ). My father will be missed, and I will miss him everyday for the rest of my life, but I am the chief of Berk and i will take care of my own!"
Everyone around them erupted into cheers before dispersing when Hiccup began to walk up the stairs with the gang and Heathers family on his heels.
"Mom, do you know if there are empty houses right now?" Hiccup asked as they ascended the cliffside.
"Actually yes, the house that is just below the hill where ours is." She replied.
"Baldors? What happened to him?"
"He just got badly injured during the battle and his daughter is taking care of him, so he moved in with her." Valka informed him.
"Alright, can you please take Heather and her family there and make sure they're comfortable." Hiccup said.
"Of course." Valka called for them to follow, but Hiccup tapped Heather's shoulder before she could go.
"I'm so very sorry for what i said earlier, is there anything i could do?" He asked her.
"It's okay, you were under the influence of alcohol, i know you are not usually like that. But there is something you could do for me." Hiccup perked up. "My parents will look for work and i will as soon as Njord hits six months."
"Of course, what did you have in mind?" He asked as they walked towards Heathers new house.
"My parents were farmers before..."
"Done, i'll have the trees behind your house cleared so that the ground will be ready to be tilled in spring."
"And i was an alchemist." She finished.
"I'm sure Gothi could use a new protégée." Hiccup said.
Heather smiled. "Thank you, Hiccup, for everything. Letting us stay and helping us out."
"Don't mention it." He said and bade her farewell.
Valka emerged from the house and walked to her son. She placed a hand on his shoulder as they looked over the village, his village.
Everything had a fresh layer of snow covering it. All the houses had icicles hanging from the roof and window sills, where Snotlout was helping Gustav get his tongue unstuck. But what surprised Hiccup was that the blue ice was completely gone.
