Damon was drinking the Zima he stole from Kai's backpack while Bonnie was sitting on the ground, flipping through the pages of her Grams' grimoire right next to Kai and Nelly's corpses.
"Can you stop being so loud, Damon? Let me concentrate?"
Bonnie looked at him.
"On the bright side, this stuff's not so bad. It's fruity and fizzy."
"Damon, I'm working on something."
She said, holding the ascendant on her palm and showing it to him.
"On the not-so-bright side, is your intelligence, because you took the only chance of us getting out of here and turned him into a giant.... douche kebab." He looked at Kai for a while before taking another sip of Zima.
"Plus, her"
he motioned in Nelly's direction:
"she didn't have to die."
He said frowning.
"Think about it Damon. What prison gives an inmate a key?"
Bonnie says ignoring his statement.
"Is that a trick question, or is this stuff actually starting to kick in?"
Damon stares at the Zima and smiles goofily at it, planting a kiss on the bottle.
"I think the Gemini coven used a Bennett spell to create this place. What if that's why my Grams sent me here?"
"And this is the face I make when I don't understand you."
Damon makes a face causing Bonnie to sigh and get back to working on the spell.
"The last thing my grams said to me was to stay strong. What if that was her way of telling me I had the power to get out? I have the ascendant, a massive celestial event to draw from.... plus a burning desire to get away from you."
Bonnie said smiling sweetly.
Bonnie closed her eyes and started chanting: "Sangina Maerma, Ascendarum Cavea"
the ascendant opened on Bonnie's palm causing Bonnie and Damon to look at each other.
"That's why Kai wouldn't kill me. He needed a Bennett. I was his only way out of here."
Bonnie turned around, walking towards the opening of the cave.
"Woah, where you going?"
"Home"
she simply replied.
"You coming?"

Nelly's POV
I woke up in the forest, laying face first on the ground. I got up remembering what happened and immediately looking around frantically.
"I-I died.... Bonnie killed me."
I whispered to myself. My eyes were automatically looking around for Kai but his body was nowhere to be seen.
"What the hell..."
I started walking towards the cave, messing up my hair when I heard Bonnie and Damon's voices.
Damon was drinking the last drops of his Zima, looking at the Bennett. Bonnie was cutting her palm with the ascendant, dropping her blood on it when I dropped down into the cave.
"What the actual hell Bonnie?"
I stomped to her angrily. She was startled and stared at me with wide eyes.
"How are you alive? I killed you."
She breathed out.
"Yeah no shit"
I scoffed raising my hand, giving her an aneurysm.
"Bad move Bennett"
just then I heard a sound coming from above, losing focus on Bonnie. She quickly regained her posture and looked up at the eclipse, ready to go home. She began chanting again:
"Sangina Maerma, Ascendarum Cavea"
The ascendant shifted on her palm.
"It's time Damon."
"All right, let's get awkward."
I tried to move towards them but Bonnie was quick to stop me.
"Motus!"
Just like that I was thrown across the cave, hitting my back against the hard rocks.
"Ow shit"
I mumbled in pain.
"That broke a few ribs."
Damon placed his palm below Bonnie's.
"I'm sure there's about a billion people you'd rather be here with."
"Not exactly"
Bonnie whispers to him.
"Let's go-"
Bonnie began but was thrown back with an arrow sticking from her stomach, the ascendant flying to the ground.
"Forgetting someone?"
Kai was standing behind Damon, holding a crossbow. I smiled getting up from the ground.
"Perfect timing"
I said crossing my arms and moving on the other side of Damon, trapping him between us.
"Did you really think I hadn't tried to kill myself before? Because I had. Lots of times, lots of ways." Kai said while re-loading his crossbow.
After he was done, he aimed the bow to Damon's chest, nudging his head towards the ascendant.
"Grab that and the next arrow goes in her heart. Your choice."
Kai warned him.
Damon sped to Bonnie while I sped to Kai, looking at him with a questioning look.
"Okay, I got you"
Damon tends to Bonnie making sure she's okay.
I nodded to Kai and began sprinting towards the ascendant.
"Damon, no!"
Bonnie yells at him.
Damon ran to me and slammed my head against the rocks as hard as he could, making me lose consciousness.
End of Nelly's POV
Damon ran to Kai, trapping him between himself and the wall.
Kai stabbed him with an arrow making Damon grunt in pain. While Kai and Damon were fighting, Bonnie was reaching for the ascendant. Kai had flipped himself so that he was now on top of Damon, pushing the arrow down to his heart.
"Bonnie.. get.. out of here"
Damon speaks through his teeth, resisting the arrow from killing him.
"I'm not gonna make it....but you are."
Bonnie smiles through her tears.
"Motus"
Kai flies off of Damon as Damon is being dragged into the circle of light by an invisible force.
"Don't!"
Kai yells at Bonnie, his voice laced with panic.
Bonnie tosses the ascendant to Damon.
"No!!"
He yells before being surrounded by a white light, taking him back home to the real Mystic Falls.
The ascendant drops to the ground and shatters into a million pieces. Kai lets out a loud scream and Bonnie looks up at the sky smiling with teary eyes, before laying down on the ground, holding her bleeding stomach.
