IX. THE END OF THE LOSERS CLUB

"YOU" MRS KASPBRAK pointed a meaty finger at each of the seven kids, "You did this. You know how delicate he is."

"We were attached M-Mrs K-" Bill tried to explain.

"Don't," She shoved Eddie into the front of the car, "Don't try and blame anyone."

Callie watched with a grim expression as the scene unfolded in front of her. She didn't understand how someone as sweet as Eddie could come from a woman who was so cruel and judgemental.

Mrs Kaspbrak fumbled with her keys as they dropped to the ground.

Beverly bent down, "Let me get them, Mrs-"

"Back!" The woman screeched, as if Beverly were some kind of dog.

She leaned toward Beverly, "Oh, I've heard of you, Miss Marsh. And I don't want a dirty girl like you touching my son."

"And you, Miss Thompson." Callie was shocked as Mrs Kaspbrak pointed a finger towards her mockingly. "Don't think I haven't seen your mother go home piss-drunk. I don't want some intoxicated, dirty teenage girl like you hanging around my son either." Callie clenched her jaw, glaring up at the woman.

    "Mrs K, I s-s-" Bill tried again.

"No! You are monsters! All of you. And Eddie is done with you. Do you hear me? Done!"

With that, Mrs Kaspbrak got into the car and drove away. The losers stepped onto the road and stared at the disappearing car with sad looks.

Bill turned to his six friends. "I saw the well. W-we know where it is and next time we'll be better prepared."

Callie stared at the boy. Was he serious?

"No!" Stan exclaimed, "No next time Bill. You're insane!" He fought back a sob.

"Why? We all know no one else is going to do anything." Beverly told them.

"Eddie was nearly killed," Richie gestured to Ben, "And look at this motherfucker! He's a leaking Hamburger Helper!" He pointed at Callie who's eyes were bloodshot, "And Callie's on the verge of passing out because she was stuck in a fucking coffin for half and hour with two dead bodies!" He held up two fingers.
