It is only after the initial excitement and survival instinct that my fear starts to kick in.
"Daenerys!" I yell.
We are far above the clouds. I can't tell for how long we've been flying.
The wind whips around my ears.
I don't think she can hear me.
Finally, Drogon starts to descend. We pass through the clouds and I can see we're over some hills. Nowhere near Meereen.
Drogon spots a herd of wild goats and descends quicker. I hold on to Daenerys as tight as I can.
We hit the ground with a thump, and Drogon's body shakes beneath us as he shoots streams of fire at the goats.
Dany slides off of Drogon and I follow her. We move quickly out of the way as Drogon consumes his meal.
My legs feel like mush, and I fall to the ground. Daenerys sits beside me. We're in some sort of green field in a hilly landscape.
Daenerys holds my arm. "Are you alright Nyla?"
I let out a shaky breath and look at her. "We just rode a dragon..." I whisper in awe.
She smiles. "We did." She looks a Drogon for a while. "I hope everyone is alright."
"They probably are... most of the Sons of the Harpy seemed to flee when Drogon arrived. It's good you got out safe but..." I look around. "But I have no idea where we are..."
She nods. "We flew for an hour at least. We could be on the other side of Essos for all we know."
I stand up on shaky legs and reach my hand out to her.
"Drogon is probably going to eat and then rest for a while. I'm going to look around. Come with me?"
She smiles up at me. Shes covered in dirt, her hair windswept and knotted. But she is still the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
She takes my hand and I help her to her feet.
"Alright. Lead the way, my brave knight."
We keep holding hands as we walk away from Drogon onto a hill. I help Daenerys up some of the harder parts. Eventually, we make it to the top of the hill. On one side of us is a cliff, in the distance, there are rivers, hills and more fields of green.
Looking around, that's all there is.
I sigh. "We're going to need water. We should head down into that valley and get some. Hopefully, Drogon will be able to fly soon."
She nods and smiles, grabbing my hand tightly. "I agree."
We head down past Drogon and into the valley.
I hear horse beats in the distance. "Shit..." I whisper, pulling out my sword and I get into a fighting pose.
A single rider approaches us on the hill beyond. I recognized his clothing and braided hair. He has a curved arakh blade.
"Its the Dothraki Daenerys..." I whisper.
She nods, not saying anything, but I notice she takes off her ring and drops it on the ground.
More and more Dothraki come over the hill, and eventually, they ride toward us, hundreds and hundreds of them. Circling around us on horseback. They yell and howl in a deafening sound.
I grasp my sword tight and keep Daenerys close to my side. We lived with the Dothraki for close to a year, I know they can be ruthless and cruel.
Eventually, they stop circling us and some of them dismount their horses.
