Chapter IX

...

I snapped my head back, it was Urata though he looked awful, there was a huge purple bruise on his cheek and blood trailed down from his mask down to his chin.

"Urata? What happened?" I asked and frantically moved towards him, "It's nothing serious, I just ran into some trouble" He mumbled, slumping his back on the pillar of the well.

My lips lightly formed into a pout at the given vague information, worry started to simmer in my tummy when I saw him coughing up blood, staining the ground.

I scrambled my way towards him ready to pull out a blank talisman hidden under my sleeve and cast a healing prayer.

"Don't, I can heal on my own" He mumbled, harshly ripping the sleeve of his dirtied kimono, his arm littered with dark purple bruises and dried blood.

The corner of his eyes winced in pain but he made no sound, "Urata, let me help you" I said and kneeled in front of him peaking into his forest green orbs.

"I said no" He growled bearing his canine teeth at me like some sort of wild animal being threatened.

But even so, I moved towards him holding instead of a talisman, I held a clean white cloth that seemed to ease the brunette's worries.

Walking slowly behind him, I pulled out a bucket from the well that was half filled with water.

I set it beside Urata as he lightly flinched at the action but soon his muscles seem to soften.

Carefully sitting in front of him, I looked in to his pained eyes that somehow made my heart crumple.

Lightly tending his wounds as I could possibly can, there was often a few flinches, grunts and groans but nothing drastic.

As I was wiping off the blood on his forehead and his bruised cheek, in my peripheral vision, I could see him staring at me. I did my best to ignore but knowing me, it was futile.

I caught his gaze with a concerned one, "Does it hurt?" I asked, he shook his head lightly on denial.

"Are you sure?" I asked once more while lightly poked on the purple bruise as he cutely squeaked before hitting me with his uninjured arm with glare.

I chuckled at him, making his glare intensify. "Sorry Sorry" I said half apologetic and half not so much as I went back to tending his wounds.

"And there!" I said with relief, washing my hands with clean water from the well.

I sent a glance at brunette to see him eyeing the on-the-spot-bandage that I wrapped around his arm to prevent anymore bleeding.

"T-thanks" he mumbled a bit inaudibly but I heard it though I decided to tease him a bit, "What was that?" I feigned innocence as I placed all my attention at him.

"I said go the die in hell, idiot" he growled with a light redness growing on the tip of his ears.

I chuckled at him, "You're welcome" I said whilst giving him a bright smile that he seemed to look away after seeing it.

I couldn't understand why, did I have something stuck in my teeth? I shrugged the thought off.

It was just probably Urata being Urata. Yeah probably.

...

Sorry for not updating for so long.

I really tried but yeah.

Sorry

I'm just incompetent
