It had started with comments on every video. Dipper's YouTube channel was at barely 100 subscribers so he appreciated the involvement. "Southern_Sparkle" as his username went was the first to like and comment on every video. He was the first to join live streams and Dipper's only patron supporter. Sometimes the comments left by SS could be a bit unnerving, they would compliment his "chocolate curls" or "soft figure" and "delicate skin" rather than the actual content of the video. SS would leave lists of timestamps that would cut to freeze frames of Dipper's smile or unintentionally suggestive poses. 
                          
Dipper thought it was weird and it made him second guess wether he should be posting so much of his life online in the first place. However he determined southern_sparkle was overall harmless. Dipper never shared where he was in his videos or revealed any identifying information. Besides SS had only ever tried stuff online, never in person.
                          
As his channel grew, his no.1 fan became less noticeable beneath the threads of other comments. More people tuned into his streams and likes were more guaranteed. Dipper found that SS wasn't in the forefront of his mind anymore and felt that he could relax a bit. His dream of being a successful supernatural YouTuber was slowly coming true. Gideon didn't like that.
                          
At some point Dipper opened an online shop, it was small stuff like accessories or the odd t-shirt with his channel logo on it. It got a bit weird when this one guy bought all of the items from his shop. Like who really needs 5 different colours of the same pin badge? Dipper looked at the pile of packages addressed to Gideon G in Oregon, a bit too close for comfort. Was this a name to the creepy Southern_sparkle? He decided to pack a short note into one of the packages.

Of course Dipper gave him a P.O box, he'd never give him his real address. He wasn't quite sure what he'd ask Gideon, if he was the real southern_sparkle. Perhaps why he was such a big fan, if he could tone down the creepiness? Within a couple days he was going through the handful of fan letters he'd received and came across one addressed in cursive writing and star stickers. It was him.

I was ecstatic to hear from you when I received my purchases. I can confirm that I am indeed southern_sparkle. I was getting a little worried as you'd stopped replying to my comments. Although I realise you're a busy boy, haha. I'm so proud you've grown your channel. But I knew you'd always find time for your number one fan x

Dipper did not like the tone of that letter. It was...sweet but possessive? Like somehow he owed Gideon something as thanks for being a fan. He decided to discourage Gideon with a polite but firm reply.

I was disappointed by your very much cookie cutter response, and hurt by your callous rejection of my support. You should treat your fans as everything, they are the ones who sky rocket you to fame. I am one of the people who have helped you get where you are today.
                          
However for you, I will turn a blind eye to your rudeness and forgive you. I know you are still learning how to handle your admirers. And I will even answer your questions x

This man was an entitled, narcissistic creep. Parts of his letter made Dipper seeth. He'd forgive Dipper? Gideon was the one being disgusting and unreasonable. He was just trying to be polite but this guy thought he had the right to step over the line. Dipper didn't answer anymore of Gideon's letters from that day on, but he couldn't stop himself from reading them.

"You really think I don't know where you live? It's not that hard to find Gravity falls. Those rare shots in the forest? The supernatural? It's the only place it could be. Those bumbling police officers won't do a thing and you don't even know my name. And of course, my address is a p.o box too. You made the wrong enemy Hun."
