Double update? Why not. xx
A few days had went by and nothing really changed. Miss Morgan and I continued talking after classes most days and some days I would take her home, but nothing else.
It was a cycle that was the same everyday.
Oh and that party that Regina invited me to, I just ripped the card up. I knew she wanted me there for something other than that bullshit she was talking about.
I'm not falling for her games.
But as the days went by, Chase and Patricia started dating. He talked to me that afternoon when I got home and told me that she said yes. I could tell he was extremely happy and I was happy for him.
Of course he had to eventually tell mom and dad. Mom freaked out like always and dad just patted his back and told him not to get her pregnant.
Mom gave dad the silent treatment for about an hour.
She even said that if Chase got her pregnant, he was moving out.
Not sure if she was kidding or not.
Even though it's been a few days, it honestly doesn't feel like Miss Morgan and I are even doing anything. We only see each other in class and we talk for a few minutes before I leave to go to lunch. Then when I take her home, we talk a little then that's it.
The same cycle over again.
It's as though the feelings aren't really there.
"Alright class, please make sure you study for the test coming up." Miss Morgan smiles at everyone as the bell rings and everyone starts packing their things.
Packing up my backpack, I wasn't sure if I was planning on staying or not.
"Carter," She smiles at me as I walk towards the front. "what's wrong?" Her smile faded.
I stop in front of her desk and look at her. I didn't want to say anything cause it might hurt her. I mean, I really did like her but I don't know what I was even feeling at this moment.
"Nothing?" I question it.
She stares at me for a moment before folding her arms on the desk. "Maddie is going to take me home today, ok?" I nod as I watch her. "I also wanted to ask what you were doing this weekend."
I gave her a look before shrugging. "Nothing that I know of. Why?"
Even though the donation center hasn't really needed my help for a few weeks now, I still need to find out if they need me.
Smiling, she looks down at her hands. "I was wondering if you wanted to hang out? I mean, not in public around here but maybe we can figure something out? I just feel like we never really get time together."
This caught me off guard.
I couldn't help but smile as I held onto my backpack strap. "Sure."
Her smile widened as she nodded then looks down. "Ok, um not sure how I'm going to find a ride but-"
"I'll come get you." I say, which makes her look up at me.
"Are you sure?" She asks. "If my car wasn't in the shop, I could drive."
I smile at her. "It's totally fine."
She nods then smiles. "Um, how about Saturday morning around ten or eleven? Can you come then?"
"Sounds good." I nod.
She leans back and smiles at me until the door opens and a student walks in. I was expecting Ayden, but it was another student. They had a book in their hands as they smiled at Miss Morgan.
