Lunch with Jungkook was easy and fun as casual, just like it always was. And the rest of the night was uneventful; no drunk guys showing up at your house, no awkward phone calls. You slept fitfully and woke up late the next day.

You brushed your teeth and put your hair up, trying to get ready somewhat quickly. It was already almost time for Namjoon to come pick you up, and you didn't want him to arrive while you still looked like you had just been hit by a bus.

You pulled on a tee shirt and jeans, replying to a text Jungkook had sent you while you were still asleep.

Let me know what happens today, he had said.

Definitely, you typed back, I'll call you when I get back.

You knew that was probably pointless, and if you took long enough to call him, he would just end up showing up at your apartment.

Soon enough, there was a knock at your door. You opened it to reveal Namjoon, standing with his hands shoved in his pockets.

"Hey," he said, giving you a nervous smile.

"Hey, Namjoon," you said, grabbing your bag off the counter and following him outside.

He led you to his car, which you'd never been in before today. Going to lunch with your ex best friend's ex boyfriend felt weird to you, but you ignored it. Hell, this whole situation was pretty damn weird.

The whole ride was silent, neither of you speaking. You stared determinedly out the window while Namjoon kept his eyes on the road.

Namjoon pulled into the parking lot of the plaza down the street, and you hopped out of the car.

"Where do you wanna go?" Namjoon asked.

You laughed, "You asked me to lunch. I'm not supposed to have to deal with that pressure."

He rubbed the back of his neck, laughing, "Yeah, sorry, I just know this is kinda weird. I didn't wanna make you feel any more weird."

"I don't think that's possible," you teased. He shrugged and picked a random restaurant.

The two of your ordered, and Namjoon led you to sit outside.

"Okay, now are you going to tell me what's up?" you asked, "It sounded serious."

Namjoon's lips pulled downwards, "Yeah, it kind of is. It's about Micha."

You huffed, "What did she do now?"

He grimaced, "It's not what she did. I just think there's something you should know."

You nodded, urging him to go on. He chewed his lip, hesitating, before finally continuing. "I just... I don't know if she's doing okay. Something seemed a little off for a while, but I just thought she was stressed out. But the night of the party.. she lost it a little bit. She was screaming and freaking out and saying all of the stuff she was gonna do to you and Jimin. It was really scary."

You clenched your jaw, forcing your voice to remain casual.

"What, you think there's something, like, wrong with her?" you furrowed your eyebrows.

He winced, and sat there silently for a few moments. He looked at you, seemingly collecting his thoughts, "I don't know," he finally said, "I really don't know. I loved her, we dated for a long time, and I've seen her mad a lot. This time was just different. Like something had snapped."

You felt goosebumps creep up your arms, and you wrapped your arms around yourself.

"Damn," you said, "She didn't hurt you, right?"

Namjoon shook his head, "No. She put her hand up like she was going to swing at me, but then she put it back down."

You nodded, taking a hesitant bite of your food, "I'm glad she didn't hit you, at least." Namjoon nodded, and there was silence as you both ate.

Namjoon stood up and offered to take your tray as you finished your food. You let him take it, and he went back into the restaurant to throw them away.

What the hell did Namjoon think Micha was going to do? He was so concerned that he had to have a whole conversation to warn you about her, and you wondered if you should tell Jimin to be careful.

You shrugged, pushing those thoughts away. You knew Namjoon was just being cautious, and she wasn't actually going to do anything. You were friends with Micha for a long time, and she got mad a lot, but she would never actually hurt anyone. She would pull a pretty cruel prank every once in a while, but nothing serious.

Namjoon emerged from the restaurant and gestured towards the parking lot. You nodded, following him back to the car.

The car ride home was silent until you pulled up to your apartment.

"Thanks for lunch," you said, "And for the ride."

"Of course," he said, nodding. "Wait," he stopped you as you reached for the door handle. You turned back to him, and the look in his eyes gave you a feeling of apprehension you couldn't fully identify.

"I just wanted to warn you to be careful, okay? Don't mess with her if you can help it," he said, his eyes boring into mine.

"Of course," you said, nodding, "I'll be careful." He nodded and let go of your arm. You turned to him one last time, "You be careful too, okay?" you said, "She's never left any of her ex boyfriends alone. You saw what she did to Jimin, and he's not even the one that ended it. I think you need to be cautious, too."

He swallowed audibly, and you knew that was already something he had been thinking about. "Definitely," he said with a nod, keeping his voice casual. "Don't worry about me."

You hesitated for a moment before nodding and hurriedly ducking out of the car, eager to pretend the last hour never happened. You definitely didn't need anything else to worry about.

You turned around in time to see Namjoon pulling out of the parking lot, and you stood there for a few moments, trying to collect your thoughts. You brushed your fingers across the goosebumps on your arms as you turned and retreated into your apartment.
