serena: "So listen, I was thinking that..."
y/n: "That what?"
serena: "What is she doing here?"
best friend: "I have a name and I'm pretty sure you know it."
serena: "I do, it's B-I-T--"
y/n: "O-kaaay! Serena, I was thinking [best friend] could tag along."
serena: "Why?" (whispers) "Are you okay? Is she blackmailing you?"
best friend: "I have ears."
serena: "Can they stop working for two minutes?"
best friend: "You are so--"
y/n: "Serena, [best friend] and I have decided to put our past behind us and start over. Right, [best friend]?"
best friend: "Right."
serena: "How did this even happen? I just can't imagine you two having a heart to heart talk like that."
best friend: "We didn't. We just..."
y/n: "...realized we've been through a similar experience, that's all. So we connected immediately."
serena: "What was the experience?"
best friend: "You'd never believe it."
serena: "Try me."
y/n: "Serena, didn't you text me that you wanted to go shopping for a new dress?"
serena: "Right. I haven't forgotten." (sighs) "Fine. Let's go."
best friend: "Finally."
serena: "If you pull any funny stuff, I'm taking [y/n] and we're leaving. Is that clear?"
best friend: "What are we in, the military?"
y/n: "Let's just all get along, hm? For my sake."
serena: "Hmph. Fine."
best friend: "Fine."
y/n: "What kind of dress do you think you're going to buy?"
serena: "Remember, I messaged you last week? It's my cousin's wedding."
y/n: "Oh, right. I'm sorry, I completely forgot."
serena: "How could you forget? You're coming with me."
y/n: "I am?"
[BEST FRIEND nudges Y/N's elbow]
y/n: "Just kidding."
serena: "We need to get you a dress, too."
y/n: "Okay, but nothing too expensive."
serena: "You can afford it, don't be silly."
best friend: "Mhm, remember your dad owns the main diner in town? Remember?"
y/n: "O-oh... right, right." (nervously laughs) "Sorry, my thinking cap just isn't on today."
serena: "As long as someone isn't poisoning you..."
best friend: "I'm not poisoning her! Besides, if I wanted to kill someone I'd try a more unique take, thank you very much."
serena: "That's not exactly comforting." (mumbles) "Why did you bring her again?"
y/n: (whispers) "Friends. Getting along. Please."
serena: (whispers) "I'm trying."
y/n: (whispers) "Try with less backtalk."
serena: (clears throat) "[best friend], I suppose it's a good thing you came. You can help me pick out a dress for [y/n]. You have pretty good style."
best friend: "Last week you told me my shirt reminded you of roadkill."
serena: "Only because last month you said my ponytail looked like a mushroom with a branch growing from it!"
best friend: "Oh yeah, what about that time you--"
serena: "That's probably not as awful as that year when you--"
y/n: This is going to be a long day.
