I couldn't even begin to describe what or how I was feeling right now. How could I? I just lit candles by pointing to them and we just floated above Chloe's living room floor. Chloe is a frickin witch! I'm a frickin witch! How is this possible? I felt a beacon of hope flicker through me just then. Maybe this changes things, I thought to myself. I mean, if I'm as powerful as Chloe says that I am, maybe I don't have to run anymore. Maybe I can fight back and protect those who I have grown to care about.

My thoughts were cut off when Chloe opened her door and let Jax and Mitch inside. My heart began to beat quickly at the sight of Jax. Shit. Jax is a were. My mate. Chloe explained why I have been feeling this way towards Jax. It still didn't make complete sense to me since my brain is now overwhelmed with all of this supernatural stuff being real. Jax made his way over to me and his heated stare had me practically melting into Chloe's couch.

"Are you okay?" He asked me with his husky voice. Damn him for making me feel this way. I'm a mess when he is around. "Still in shock, but yeah." I told him quietly. I needed to learn how to act normal around him, if that was even possible. "Good." He said as he sat down right beside me. Shit. I could feel the mate bond tugging at me and next thing I knew, I was snuggled right up into Jax's side, wrapped in his arms. I mentally rolled my eyes at myself.

"Jax, wait until you see what your little witch can do." Chloe told him proudly. I smiled, it felt good to make someone proud. Mitch walked back out of Chloe's kitchen with a beer and smiled at me. "Well, let's see shall we?" He asked as he pulled Chloe over to her armchair with him. They sat down, Chloe in his lap of course.

I pulled myself up, out of Jax's arms, to which he grumbled. I smiled and touched his face with my hand gently and we got lost in each other's eyes. "Ahem, if you keep doing that then we will never see what you can do. Aside from Jax seeing what you can do in bed of course." Mitch interrupted with a laugh and a wiggle of his eyebrows.

"Enough Mitch!" Jax snapped at him, I just awkwardly chuckled as my face flushed redder that my lipstick. I turned my focus to the candles and focused on my task. Light the candles without starting a fire. After taking a slow, deep breath, I pointed to each candle. They all slowly lit and I smiled, it felt good having powers and having control over them.

I looked up at Chloe, who was smiling ear to ear

I looked up at Chloe, who was smiling ear to ear. Mitch was staring at the candles in awe. I turned to look at Jax and he was staring at me with so many emotions in his eyes; awe, adoration, pride, and something else that I couldn't pinpoint. "Can we go talk?" He asked me quietly as he smiled at me. I was nervous, but I nodded my head yes.

"We'll be right back". Jax told Chloe and Mitch as he took my hand and led me out of Chloe's apartment. "Sure you will!" Chloe laughed and wiggled her eyebrows. My eyes grew wider and she simply laughed even harder. Jax led me to my apartment and seemed to be nervous himself.

We walked into my living room and I set my keys on the coffee table, grabbed my favorite red throw blanket and settled onto my couch. I watch Jax pace back and forth and waited for him to speak. He looked nervous, like he didn't eve know where to begin. I knew that feeling all to well.

"So, we're mates huh?" I decided to break the silence and get right to the point

"So, we're mates huh?" I decided to break the silence and get right to the point. Jax stopped pacing and slowly turned to look at me. "Don't worry, I'm not going to freak out and start crying. I did all of that this morning." I told him with a nervous laugh. Jax looked hurt when I said that, then I realized how it sounded. Shit. "No, not over the mate part, well kind of, more about everything, like all of it." I tried to explain, but it wasn't coming out right.

"I get it Scarlette, I've been trying to come up with a way to tell you, but I couldn't think of any scenario where you wouldn't end up in tears or afraid." Jax told me, his eyes apologetic. "Afraid of what?" I asked him gently. "Afraid of all of it, afraid of me." Jax told me, his voice said. I slowly stood up, walked over to Jax and touched his face as I searched his eyes for what, I wasn't sure. "Jax this is all scary to me in a way, but I don't think that it's possible for me to be afraid of you." After I said that, Jax's eyes grew darker and the next thing I knew he had me wrapped in his arms and was kissing me with so much passion I thought that I'd explode with lust.

I kissed Jax back and I knew that I wouldn't be able to leave him. I could feel everything he wanted to tell me in his kiss and frankly, I didn't want to stop. I knew deep down that I should be afraid of us, that this was all happening so fast. But I also felt that this was right, so I let all of my guards down and let him lead me to my bedroom.

We stopped kissing when we reached my bed and I lit all of my candles with one quick wave of my hands, if I was going to give in to him, we were doing this right. I was a virgin still, but that didn't stop me from wanting this man, my mate deep in my core. I looked at him as I slipped my black tank top off and never broke eye contact until his hungry gaze moved down my body.
