Personality | Varian is described as an ambitious dragon with a strong desire to be a great cook. Because of his eccentric dream, Varian did not have a lot of friends growing up, with his sole companion being a crystal butterfly. He also exhibits fanatical admiration towards the presence of regal figures and ordinary dragons who possess benevolent chef-like qualities, as he believes he can learn from individuals who have succeeded in their ascension and also understand what is needed for one to be a benevolent cook, resulting in him becoming one step closer to accomplishing his own ambitions.
His views for being the great cook changed after he got defeated in the cooking competition, not only that, got humiliated. However with support from his family, Varian began displaying emotional and psychological resilience when facing such moral dilemmas. Despite so, Varian is still someone who is sensitive towards dragon who tell him that he become a bad cook, despite him on several occasions voicing out his intentions to become the very opposite. He is a peaceful and genuinely kind dragon at heart who confidently feels obligated to show compassion and empathy even towards dragons who have committed horrible deeds. He also showed an inability to come out with his feelings, hiding the fact that he genuinely felt lonely after he took his journey, leaving his family and continued insisting he was fine. Despite his peaceful nature, it doesn't mean that Varian never shows anger. The first example was right after his competitors threatened him and his family to get banish away from the tribe.

Backstory | His pride and joy, the tavern serves as a popular meeting place for visitors and residents alike. Matters of official tribe business are often held at the tavern after hours. Earnest and charitable, Varian has a talent for getting people talking and thawing even the most frigid of attitudes. For Varian nothing is more important than making sure anyone who climbs aboard is given a good meal and an atmosphere that raises the spirits of even the weariest traveler.
Life in the tribe for Varian was bumpy at first. As with many lairs before it, the residents weren't exactly eager to eat food prepared by someone who looked so clearly infected. But, after much persuasion by the returning combat team and the surprising amount of faith they had put into Varian's cooking, others slowly began to try it for themselves. Once the ball got rolling and the entire residents began to sing his praise, travelers and visitors began to flood Varian's tiny kitchen to see the glowing spiral in action. It wasn't until Varian began to get offers to cook elsewhere that the tribe realized they needed to ensure that Varian, who they had slowly begun to see as part of the family, had enough incentive to stay. Banning together the den remodeled the old decaying building into the proud tavern it is today and gifted it to Varian. Much to his delight.
