Chapter 7: Resistance

Within about an hour, an unfamiliar sound catches my attention from the road, sounding similar to an old machine, possibly a truck of some kind.

Hearing the sound getting closer, I immediately go into defense mode, not wanting to use my abilities on an intruder.

Remaining seated upon the sheet, I expose my claws and make my teeth grow sharp. Hearing the vehicle park near the pipe, I watch the pipe closely. Hearing a heavy door open and shut, footsteps are heard before the sound of two large metal doors are opened. Shade covers the pipe as something slides down it.

Expecting an intruder, I become relieved to notice a body wrapped in a sheet fall down from the pipe.

Relaxing, I dull my teeth and nails before watching each wrapped body get thrown down the pipe. The bodies stack up until 11 are accounted for in total, including the bodies that were here before.

Hearing the doors close, I hear the vehicle pull around the church to park and hide behind it.

Sitting there on the sheet, I can't help but feel excited to see Axel return. Amon's words had made me feel much better about this situation I'm in, and the truth that Axel will eventually get used to me keeps me hopeful. I've only known this creature for such a short time, but the way my heart feels about him is undeniable. I've come to the conclusion that this creature is likely my only source of happiness in this world, and I've grown to adore the feeling of actual happiness for the short time I've been able to experience it.

Hearing his footsteps approach the pipe, I watch his shadow being casted in the dim, faint rays of the dying sunlight as he climbs down it.

Seeing him, he jumps down from the pipe before his eyes lock onto me, checking on me briefly before he moves his attention back to the bodies. He grabs onto the sheet of an older body to drag it with ease over onto a table in the back near me.

Looking over the clothes he is wearing, they are the same pair that he wore the nights he would be dressed around me.

Noting that his brother, Amon, was bare when he was here, I assume their kind is more familiar with not hiding their true features with one another, unlike humans.

The males don't have any exposed genitalia, as their reproductive systems are more advanced and evolved than humans and most other species of immortals.

Before he begins working on the body, he gets comfortable by removing his clothing. Axel deciding to be bare in my presence is proof to me that he is becoming more accepting of me.

Watching as he does, I move my attention onto something else. Once he had undressed, my divided attention must have bothered him because he approached me and kneeled down in front of me.

He immediately begins taking in my scent, as though he had been craving my scent the entire time he had been gone.

Allowing him to smell me over, I take in his scent quietly as well. Despite him having been in some kind of vehicle, the heat and occasional sunlight, shockingly he doesn't smell like sweat in the slightest. He actually smells very good, as if his body is resistant to becoming dirty to a good degree.

His scent makes my heart flutter, smelling thickly like some kind of irresistible male musk that nearly makes my mouth water. Added into that scent are faint hints of the basement's scent, and blood.
