chapter nine

                                    

                                          



Nadia knocks on the wooden door of the small cottage in the middle of the woods. Mandla let out a sigh as she realized he was in a human's place yet again. A blonde thin girl opened the door and her blue eyes widened as she saw everyone who was standing outside her door.
                          
"Don't worry, they're not going to hurt you" Asher muttered as she saw the girl's expression. 
                          
"I wouldn't be so sure" Mandla grinned. Mackenzie pushed him off the porch making him fall on the ground on all the fallen leaves.  
                          
"Don't mind him, he's insane" Annie said with a small smile. "What's your name?" she asked. Nadia let out a sigh as they made conversation with the witch.
                          
"The name's Emily" the blonde girl said crossing her arms with a suspicious and annoyed face. Kailand and Johnny exchanged looks as they saw the girl's reaction.
                          
"The name's Annie" the brunette introduced herself as she shook hands with the blonde girl. "We were wondering if you were the witch that did the spell on our parents" she continued. The blonde girl stood there silently not bothering on answering any questions.
                          
"Emily, it's okay, you may tell them" Nadia muttered softly as she looked down. The group stared at her waiting for an answer.
                          
"I am" the blonde said with a low voice. Annie gave her a small smile as she finally confirmed that she was.
                          
"We want you to undo your spell" Maddie said as she looked at Emily. The blonde girl looked at Nadia and Asher before looking again at Maddie. "Don't worry, they told us it was okay" she finished.
                          
"And we promised we would hurt them if you don't do it, so I would start doing that little witchcraft you do" Mandla said coming up to the porch again. Asher rolled his eyes. 
                          
"Alright, I'll undo the spell" Emily said letting them in. Johnny walked in last, the two made eye contact as he walked past her. 
                          
"I'll need blood from each one of you" Emily said softly as she sat in front of Johnny. He gave her his hand and she made a cut with knife as gentle as she could. Mackenzie took a breathe as she saw the two make eye contact. "Sorry about that" she whispered. Johnny gave her a small smile as he covered his hand. 
                          
She did the same with the rest of them. As she got to Mandla he started groaning and complaining as she did the cut. 
                          
"I hate all of you" he muttered glaring at everyone in the room as Emily stood up with all of their blood in a cup. Annie and Asher rolled their eyes at him. 
                          
Emily closed her eyes as she dropped the blood on a Zeus image. She started saying words in latin. Nadia sighed as she did. 
                          
"Are you happy now?" Nadia snapped at the group. "Father is going to kill me, send me to hell, who knows" she continued glaring at Asher. 
                          
"I won't let anything happen to you, I'll take the blame" Asher said comforting his sister. She scoffed at him as she looked away. 
                          
"Why did you guys start war?" Lauren asked softly breaking the uncomfortable silence. Nadia's head quickly moved to look at the green eyed girl. Emily continued to say things in latin. 
                          
"Isaak wanted revenge on your father for killing his, Hades wanted revenge for throwing us all out with no explanation given" the redheaded girl explained as she stared at Lauren. "We've suffer thanks to all of you arrogant and selfish people" she said as she bit her lip in frustration.
                          
"I'm really sorry, I've never really put thought on what my father has made all of you go through" Johnny said softly. "I'll make it up to you when I become god of gods officially, I promise" he finished.
                          
"If you ever become god of gods, we're probably all going to die if Hades attacks" Mandla mumbled annoyed.
                          
"Perhaps we could help you" Asher quickly says making Nadia's eyes widen. She stares at him furiously waiting for him to say something else. Annie gave him a small smile. 
                          
"And how would we do that?" Nadia asks sounding mad and shocked. Kailand lets out a sigh and he stares at the wall not paying attention to the conversation. 
                          
"We could help them win the battle, of course we will make our people believe we're on their side but we're actually on theirs" Asher explains. Annie nods. 
                          
"So you're betraying father? Your own father?" Nadia yells at his brother. "I can't do this" she says standing up and walking out the door. 
                          
"Hey, you don't have to do that for us. We already got what we wanted, or we're about to" Annie comforts Asher with a small smile as she places her small hand on top of his. 
                          
"No, I want to do this. Father has been emotionally, verbally and physically abusing me all these years. I won't let him anymore" Asher says as he makes eye contact with Annie. 
                          
"I feel sick" Maddie groans. Kailand looks up and stares at Maddie who looked nauseous and ill. "I think I need to throw up" she mutters staring at Mackenzie. Mackenzie pats her back as comfort. 
                          
"Want me to take you outside?" the younger sister asked as she stares at her sister with a concern face. 
                          
"No, stay here" Maddie says as she pushes Mackenzie's hands off and stands up. "I'll go by myself" she says before running outside and throws up on the porch. She groans as she finishes.
                          
"Are you okay?" Kailand asked softly behind her. She didn't bother on turning around or answering the question. "I know you're mad at me and we're not talking but can I just say that I really miss you" he continues.
                          
"Kailand, don't" Maddie says, still looking ill. 
                          
"I want to make things right, although I so not regret going to battle that day. I'll do anything to protect my people, to protect you" he says.
                          
"Our parents died in that battle. What if something like that happened to you?" she yells at Kailand. He gets closer to her and caressed her cheek. She quickly pulled down his hand. 
                          
"Maddie please don't be like this"
                          
"I'm pregnant" Maddie quickly says.
                          
"W-what did you just say?" Kailand stutters to say as he furrows his eyebrows.
                          
"I'm having your child" she whispers with tears falling on her face. "That's why I didn't want you to fight that day" she finishes. 
                          
"Why didn't you tell me?" Kailand snaps.
                          
"Tell you what?" Mackenzie says as she comes out and stands by the door. Kailand and Maddie quickly turned around to face her.
                          
"Nothing, it's nothing" Maddie replies. Mackenzie raises her eyebrows at her and crosses her arms.
                          
"Goodness, can't you just mind your goddamn business?" Maddie says annoyed as she rolls her eyes. 
                          
"Are you still feeling sick?" Mackenzie asks.
                          
"What's going on?" Lauren asks as she comes outside and stands beside Mackenzie.
                          
"You got this arrogant white bitch pregnant?" Mandla yells at Kailand as he comes out of no where from behind them. 
                          
"Pregnant?" Mackenzie repeats with widen eyes. Lauren looks straight into Maddie's belly trying to see if there was any sign of pregnancy. 
                          
"Where the hell did you even come from?" Kailand yells back at his younger brother. 
                          
"I was guarding Nadia, you really think I was just going to let her walk out and escape?" he snaps. Maddie and Kailand exchange looks as they see they'll have to explain to the group what's going on.
