AFTERNOTE
紫陽花| hydrangea

from the author

I originally planned to write two short stories about Kuroko no Basuke, showing two different sides of love.

Hydrangea is centered on Akashi Seijuro, seeing as it is a flower that symbolizes both pride and heartful emotions (i.e. apology and understanding), according to the Japanese language of flowers. Thus, the story depicts both companionship and acceptance, focusing on both of the characters' pride.

Though, I do believe that it would be a lot more suitable for people who just started dating to start with "like" rather than "love", the later seemed more appropriate, considering they have already gone beyond infatuation seeing as the came to accept each other, through the good and bad. However, the main message is not only acceptance of others, but also acceptance of themselves, as shown in how they changed, only after they accepted the bad within themselves first.

I will be writing an omake/ extra, after this chapter, and the other short story I mentioned earlier, would be entitled Freesia. Similar to Hydrangea, I wrote it with the language of the flower in mind; innocence, passion, purity, childishness and trust. It is aimed to be a lot more lighthearted than Hydrangea, perhaps with a lot of sexual tension and banters. It is centered on Aomine Daiki, but it won't serve as a spin-off or sequel to this book. Feel free to read it if you'd like.

acknowledgements

I would like to thank all those who have voted and commented in this book. As well as those who read until this far. I rarely write in third PoV, and this was probably the first book I wrote which is completely in that perspective. I thought it would be easier to show the relationship of both of the characters through actions seeing as they would rarely express it through words. Thus, your support really means a lot to me.
