You nervously rubbed your hands together as you sat at one of the tables in The Roasted Bean. Every once in a while you shot Tom a nervous look. He was working behind the counter, constantly keeping an eye on you, while you waited for Ryan to arrive. You had asked him to meet you after your shift, not letting on that you had a certain reason to talk to him. And you still didn't know how to approach the whole situation.

When Kelly came home last night and saw you and Tom together she was understandably confused. She had seen you break down because of him and now he was sitting on your bed, his arms wrapped around your waist while you stood in between his legs playing with his hair. You tried to explain the whole thing as good as possible. Kelly was sceptical towards Tom, she was certain that Jordan would've mentioned something if Ryan had really done something like this. And when Tom was gone she warned you not to fall for his games again. You had simply nodded, aware that you were walking on thin ice.

But you had to talk to Ryan, listen to what he's got to say. You were so distracted by your thoughts that you didn't even notice when Ryan sat down across from you. When he waved his hand in front of your face you blinked a few times before forcing a smile.

"Hey." He greeted, a friendly smile on his face. "Want me to get you something?" He pointed towards the counter with his thumb.

"Uh, no. I don't think I can stomach anything right now."

"Something wrong?" His eyebrows pinched together in concern.

"I have no idea how to really say this so I'm just gonna ask you straight up." You pressed your lips together for a moment. "Did you tell Tom that you and I had a bet about me sleeping with him?" You tried your best to keep your voice level and for the most part, it worked. Ryan was stunned, his mouth slightly agape before he found his composure again.

"How did you find out?"

"Are you serious?" You couldn't believe how relaxed he was. He wasn't even remotely worried. "What gave you the right?" He slightly tilted his head.

"Oh come on, Y/N. Sooner or later he would've broken your heart anyway. I just sped up the process a little bit." He shrugged his shoulders. "I just wanted to make you see that he's not the right one for you."

"And who is the right one for me in your opinion? You?" He shrugged his shoulders again making you roll your eyes.

"You should thank me." He ran his hand through his hair and leaned back in his chair.

"Thank you? For what?" You crossed your arms and looked at him challengingly.

"For saving you from wasting your time with him. For making you see what kinda person he is." You almost laughed out loud at that.

"Let me tell you something." You rested your crossed arms on the table and leaned closer to him. "The only thing that this whole thing made me see, is that I don't want anything to do with you ever again. You're sick when you believe that what you did was the right thing to do. You claim that you like me, that you're my friend, but you destroyed one of the best things that ever happened to me. You broke my newfound trust to Tom, and his trust in me, too. Because of you, I was heartbroken for weeks. What kind of friend accepts the heartbreak of another willingly?" You shook your head in disappointment. "I am so done with you." You stood up to get out of this place, all you wanted to do was grab your stuff from the break room and leave. But Ryan grabbed you by your elbow. A bit too tight for your liking.

"You can't be serious!"

"Let go of me." You tried to pull your arm away from him but he wouldn't let you. There was a look in his eyes that you've never seen before, it made you uneasy and if you had seen him like that before you would've kept your distance from him. He opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted.
