Chapter 7: Fiery fields
Today was officially the first task and she was filled up with anxiety, they had lead the champions to a tent where they waved goodbye to their friends-everyone except Rosie.
"Hey, ermm Rosie" Harry said awkwardly from his bench, Rosie looked up to him and raised an eyebrow, "good luck out there"
She nodded as a 'you too' before turning back to tying up her shoe laces, she had been picked to go last-which sucked so badly considering everyone hated her.
She had decided to try out some of her powers, she could see the future after all so it seemed she had an advantage.
They had picked out dragons and she was stuck with a wyvern, which were known to be very violent creatures.
It was currently Krum's turn, then it was Harry and last but not least...it would then be Rosie's turn, the only support she had was her cat waiting for her in her dorm room.
"Harry Potter!" Someone called and Harry stood up anxiously.
"Good luck" Rosie said with a half smile, knowing he'd need it.
He grinned back before stepping out, it being silent for a moment until she heard a huge smash.
Harry's turn lasted longer than anyone else, and everyone but Rosie knew why.
"Rosie Deaver!"
Her voice was called and her whole feature dropped, her face pales and she finally stood out of the tent with her wand in hand.
She immediate noticed the golden egg that was sitting in the middle.
After taking one step she was flung against a rock, causing a scratch to appear down her leg and face.
She internally cursed the dragon and swore to take revenge.
The dragon makes its way so it was facing her and she maintained eye contact with it, her eyes shifting to purple in the view of the audience.
She was seeing her opponents moves, the dragon swung its tail at her but she shouted a spell towards it.
"Flipendo!" The dragons tail gets hits back to itself and she makes eye contact again.
She bolts it to its right, completely ignoring the burning through her whole body as she ran with half a scream.
"Conjunctivitis" she screams at it as it breathes fire near her.
The dragons eyesight was now broken and it could no longer see, she just had to be smart about it.
She grabbed a few rocks and threw them over to the other side of the arena with her hands this time.
Quietly, she ran over to the eggs and grabbed the golden one.
The dragon snapped its head to her and she almost screamed in fright at the sudden movement that she hadn't seen.
It came closer to her to sniff around, she realised she had her healing cream in her pocket and that some ingredients attracted dragons.
As her body was frozen, her hand slowly grabbed it and threw it away from her choosing the opportunity to run away from the dragon and to the infirmary.
The crowd cheered and she let out a small sigh as she reached poppy, who attended to the wounds.
Rosie was placed into a bed where poppy began to patch up the burns.
The petite witch let out a scream of pain as poppy dabbed down her sponge to clean the open gash.
Rosie whimpered and tried to grip onto something tightly, only to find nothing.
"Hold still or I'll have to tie you!" Poppy scolded the girl, "oh dear, I need help!"
Someone ran in to aid the nurse and grabbed the girls arms, pinning them to her sides as someone else grabbed her legs.
After being cleaned up she let out a small whimpering sound and finally felt a release of pain.
"There we go, you should probably go ahead to dinner soon dear" poppy said with a smile towards the girl, "make sure to wash first"
Rosie nodded before standing up and walking out of the tent, wincing almost every step.
It was very visible she was injured as she had a bandage on her face and leg.
