What a Blow

                                    

                                          
It has been a few months since Maranda and Kento met. They have considered themselves dating for about 2 months now. It is currently the 17th of August, 2019, Kento has found nothing incriminating when it comes to terms with Maranda, but today, that just might change.
                          
Maranda was at school, and Kento was ordered to look around as much as he could, he was also told you retrieve the Death Note. 
"Alright Q, I am in, tell me where to go next." He said sounding nervous. 
"Go to the painting and try to pull it off the wall. Behind the painting, there is a board, remove it to find the Death Note." Said Q.
Kento did as he was told he removed the painting, and found the board. He did not see a Death Note, but just a note. "There is a sheet of paper here, it says; " Haha, I knew you would come to find it at some point, I moved it somewhere else." That's typical for her.' Said Kento.
"Well, she did know that we were coming, so most likely, she either has it on her, or she placed it in a more secure place." Said Q. She was trying to think.
"Hey Q, I think I smell something funky, like a gas of some kind." Said Kento
Kento ran out quickly, he knew the smell was gas, he saw a lot candle in a hard to reach area. He didn't have the time to put it out, so he ran out of the dorm room as fast as he could. He ran out of the building just in time to see Maranda's dorm explode. It started a fire, and the windows blew out of the seems. The balcony crumbled, and the door was missing, then the walls are charred. The rest of the building is fine. 
"Are you okay Kento?" Asked Q.
"Yes, I'm fine. The entire dorm is gone, it must have been booby-trapped." Said Kento.
Q thought for a moment. "What we are up against is nothing that can be stopped easily. Maranda is a very smart girl and knows how to use her tools around her. She always thinks one step ahead, I think it's time we do as well." Said Q.
"How do we do that?" Asked Fugi, Kento could hear that through his earpiece.
"Follow my instructions carefully..." Q started. 
                          
While that was happening, Fugasha came to Maranda. "You had some thieves try to look for your Death Note. I did exactly what you told me." 
Since Maranda was in the middle of class, she couldn't talk to Fugasha directly, so instead, she wrote down her reply on a sheet of paper. It said; "good job Fugasha."
"Yeah, it was pretty easy to wait for him. Just surprised to see that it took him this long to try to find it. At least the gas was easy to turn on as you predicted." Said Fugasha. "And I can see why you wanted me to use the gas stove, after all, it looks more like an accident."
Maranda then replied on the sheet; "Did you move the candle?" 
"Yep, exactly to where you told me to." Said Fugasha. "It only blew up your dorm, just like you predicted. Just sad it was your boyfriend who tried it." 
Maranda said nothing, she just smiled and kept on her work. Close to the end of class, she was called up to the office. She crumpled up the paper and threw it into the trash can as she left the classroom. She gave Fugasha an apple. She smiled and began to eat it. 
                          
She got to the office and she talked with the new principle. "Are you Maranda Watanabe?" He asked. 
The new principle had white hair and looked to be in his mid-60's. He has a light tan skin, green eyes, and wears circular glasses with metal frames. He was wearing a red polo, brown shoes, and tan khakis with a brown belt.
Maranda then replied. "Depends, am I in trouble? How may I help you, Principal Ishida?" 
He laughed at her joke, he is a more friendly principle than the last one that kicked her out. He responds."It appears that your dorm has blown up. Some investigators aren't sure the cause of it just yet."
"Oh no! I think I left the stove on." Said Maranda acting surprised.
"Well, that would make sense, it is a gas stove after all. But we aren't sure yet what triggered it. And unfortunately for you, we can't find an open dorm, so your either going to have to bunk with a friend or go to your parents." Said Ishida.
"Well, I don't have any parents, they all died in a car accident when I was 12. My aunt and uncle raised me until I was 18, then I was kicked out." Said Maranda.
"Oh, I am sorry to hear about that. I guess a friend will have to do until we repair your dorm or find you a new one." Said Ishida.
"I thank you for informing me about that, I am sorry about what happened." Said Maranda.
"No, it's fine, we all make mistakes and leave something on once in a while." Said Ishida. 
"Thank you for understanding." She bowed to him and left. 
                          
She was on her way back to class when she was spotted by Kento. "Hey babe, long time no..." Before he could finish, she punched him in the face. 
"Don't you ever break into my dorm again, you could have been killed." Said said. 
The spectators were whispering among themselves. They said things like; "What did he do?", " Wow, what a blow.", "She seems mad.", " Holy crap, I would not want to mess with her." 
They said this as Maranda walked back to class. 
                          
After school, Emi was willing to have Maranda stay at her house. "Hey! Right here, girl!" She shouted from her car.
Maranda giggled and walked to the car. She got in, they left the campus. 
"So, what happened to your dorm anyway?" Asked Emi.
"You remember how two months ago I said that someone might break in and try to steal the Death Note?" Said Maranda.
"Yeah, I take it that Q sent in one of the minions to go fetch it?" Said Emi.
"Yeah, the worst part of it is that he was responsible for it." Said Maranda.
"Dang, if I were him, I'd try to avoid you at all costs." Said Emi.
"Too late, I already punched him." Said Maranda.
"Hehe, I would have loved to see that." Said Emi.
"Nah, it was just a punch, and he was already out." Said Maranda. 
Emi giggled and then kept her focus on driving. 
                          
Meanwhile, Kento was now with Q. 
"So... In all fairness, I couldn't reach the candle." Said Kento.
Q looked mad, she just glared at him.
"Well, at least he lived, we can use him again, right Q?" Said Fugi to Q. 
Q glared at her. Fugi shivered and took 3 steps back.
Everyone was waiting for Q to unleash her wrath upon them, but, Q refused.
"How about we plan this out more thoroughly, obviously she thought out most of what we do. So, let's think ahead, what is one thing we can do to stop her." Said Q.
They all thought for a moment, even Q. 
"She won't expect confrontation." Said Fugi.
Q realized she was right. "Hand me the phone." Said Q.
Fugi did as she was too, and Q looked up Maranda's phone number, she then dialed it and waited for her to answer.
                          
Meanwhile, Emi and Maranda were just in the car on their way home. Maranda got a call.
"Hello?" Said Maranda.
In a discussed voice, Maranda heard a voice. "This is Q, head of the Qanon investigation. Listen to me carefully, I know who you are Maranda Watanabe, and I even know your location. You are currently on the highway heading North." Said Q.
"Alright Q, go what do you want." Said Maranda. Emi had chills hearing those words.
"I wanted you to know that I am the one investigating you, I am always watching, and if it is the last thing I do, I will find you, and I will stop your days as Sapphire." Said Q.
"Well, Qanon, you seem very ambitious and determined, I will not stop what I am doing just because I am scared of what you can do. I am more confident that my work will be done, one way, or another." Said Maranda.
"And if you die before you succeed, I will not hesitate to get that note off of you, even if I get it before then, I still will win." Said Q.
"Even if it theoretically possible to get it, how would you use it?" Said Maranda.
"I'd do the responsible thing, something you should have done from the beginning." Said Q.
"What's that? What should I have done?" asked Maranda.
"You should have destroyed it in the beginning." Said Q. She hung up.
                          
After that call, Q left Fugi and Kento alone. 
"Hey, Fugi." Said Kento.
"Yes, Kento?" Asked Fugi looking at him.
"Do you think she cares about us?" Said Kento.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well, it's just that she had Lyta sacrifice her life to attempt to recreate the Death Note, but that failed, and she didn't even grief." Said Kento.
"So?" Asked Fugi.
"She also ordered Lyta to force her to write down your name, just to prove whether or not it was fake. Then she told me to go in and retrieve the Death Note, I almost got blown up had I did not smell the gas." Said Kento.
"Well, I guess that's how Q works." Said Fugi.
"Well, I don't enjoy it." He said and left the room.
