Elizabeth's POV -unedited

The four of us jumped out of the carriage as we made it to the top where the castle laid. Hurrying along behind many of the six and seventh year students , i for some reason got knock from my group and ended up walking into Hogwarts alone. But it didn't really brother me to be honest, finally being able tot hunk to myself well it was kind of fun for a change. As we all followed each other, the group finally made it to the great hall were everything stood the same... accept for one minor detail, I didn't know if anyone else had noticed her but sitting in a seat at the front of the hall was a very stumpy lady in pink. Her smile the most though made my bones shiver as she looked amongst us students as if we were prey.

I looked away shaking the horrid feeling I had in the pit of my stomach, and looked amongst the Gryffindors to find Lee, Fred and George. Eventually I spotted the tall lanky head of hair I knew as George and rushed over to the pack.
Skipping in next to him, if only took him a second to notice I had found the lot of them.

" finally we thought we lost ya"  I rolled my eyes with a smile leaning on my hand for support.

" and what would you have done if I hadn't shown up" I looked curiously up at George as he tried to come up with a response.

" hmm" jokingly George looked thinkingly away.

"How... how dare you" I playfully whacked his arm, pouting at his response.

"I'm kidding... Jesus women you can whack" he rubbed his arm trying to wipe away the pain.

"What did the bugger do this time Liza" I looked over to see Fred ask me.

"He contemplated my worth" I made it sound way worse then it was, but it was funny to see Fred gasp dramatically going off at his brother. We all enjoyed the feast as Dumbledore welcome us back from the holidays, and saw the first years get sorted.

It was like any other year at Hogwarts, but without drama... well so far anyway. The feast was about to come to an end, when Dumbledore quiten us down and welcome our new defence against the dark art's teacher. If it was me, I'd stray away from anyone with that amount of pink on her body, but I could just tell by the evil smile on her face that she was a bound to bring trouble, especially to Hogwarts.

"I'd also like to welcome our new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher... Professor Dolores Umbridge, I'm sure you'll all welcome her.. as for" before Dumbledore could even continue, i heard the strangest sound come from the professors mouth.

"Hem hem" the room went silent, as not only the professors looked at her but the chattering students quietened down and stared at her in shock. Umbridge rose from her seat slowly waltzing over to head master Dumbledore.

"Thank you head master for those kind words of welcome, and how lovely to see all your bright and happy faces smiling up at me" her face seemed to contort into an evil smile of some sort, as she looked over the crowd of students. "I'm sure were all going to be very... good... Friends" my eye's widened in disbelief, as Umbridge seemed to feel as if we were all going to be on her page and only her page and I just knew by her tone that trouble was lurking.

"Well that's likely" both George and Fred said simultaneously as her looked longly at Umbridge, I knew by there sarcastic voices that they'd agree with her bringing trouble to Hogwarts.

"The ministry of magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be a vital importance, although each head master has brought something new to this historic school progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged, let us preserve what must be preserved, perfect what can be perfected..." by the end of the professors speech my head dozed off and I looked away into the distance of the hall. Just listening to the lady made my skin cruel, and in that moment she reminded me of one person I swore I'd not think about... my mother. The room suddenly started to clap, and I shook my head looking back up at Dumbledore as he finished his speech. Looking around I caught sight of my brother, who seemed to be on of the only other people besides me that didn't clap. His eyes also caught mine, and he lifted his hand as if too ask if I was okay. I nodded my head just so he knew and looked back up at Dumbledore as he finished his speech for the evening. George nudge me looking down at me with a soft smile.

"you okay..." I didn't have to say a word as I shrugged my shoulders, because by now I've grown to know that George knows me better then I know myself. His hand wrapped around my waist as I laid my head on his shoulder.

"I'm ready for bed" I pouted shutting my eyes as Dumbledore bid us goodnight.

"Me to.. me to Liza, it's bad enough we had to sit through that vomit of pink's speech" I giggled at Georges comment, opening my eyes and standing up as the crowd started to disappear from the hall to make it back to their common rooms. Following through the crowd, George took ahold of my hand so I wasn't lost in the sea of people. After climbing tones and tones of stairs we all stepped into the Gryffindor common room. Bidding everyone goodnight George, Fred, Lee and I made our way up to our room and before we even said goodnight to each other, we all landed exhaustedly in our beds and mumbled incoherently at each other and before I kew it I was out like a light.
