January 18th
"So we're gonna take her out tomorrow morning to get her stuff done, and then you'll come pick her up?" Samara asked over the phone.
"Yeah, I was gonna spend the day with her but I gotta get everything ready," he replied, zipping up his jacket. He had just gotten off of practice, and was headed home for the night.
"Aww! This is gonna be so cute! What'd you get her?" Samara asked. Nayeli's birthday was in tomorrow and they were going over their plans, well, his plans that she was participating in.
"I'll let her tell you," he chuckled, getting in his car.
"You're no fun at all," he could just hear her rolling her eyes. "So y'all are gonna be at the hotel till Sunday?" she asked, trying to get Nai's bag packed.
"Yes ma'am, she told wants to do dinner on Sunday. So we'll leave probably like 6," he told her, riding back to his dorm. He was really excited for her birthday, it came fast and he wanted to make it really special for her.
"You better be careful with my best friend," she said, smirk evident in her tone. "Bring her ass back in one piece,"
"Bye, Lea," he laughed. "Ain't nobody being nasty but you," he pulled into his spot and got out the car.
"Whatever Armani! I'll see you tomorrow, bro," she laughed.
"Aight sis," he nodded and hung up as he was walking into the dorm, and as no surprise to him, Noona was in the dorm, eating Chinese food in Duck's lap. He was beginning to think she moved into their dorm with them.
"Wassup Noon," he spoke, grabbing his clothes to change. He never minded when Noona came over, he just had to be mindful of what he did, and changing in the bathroom was one of those things.
"Hey Mani," she grinned once he came back out.
January had been an extremely long month for everyone, getting back to school after break. Armani and Duck were preparing for state championships in February and March Madness, which Armani was still on the fence about. He had mixed feelings about participating this year because the scouts would be everywhere and his goal was nowhere near the NBA.
He was also contemplating how he'd tell his parents. That was the main thing stressing him out about the whole idea. His mom may understand but his dad would probably be pretty upset, and as the old fashioned couple they were, she supported all her husbands decisions.
Since he was on an athletic scholarship, he had to talk to his advisor about wether it was a multiyear scholarship or one that needed to be renewed as well, because if it was yearly, he'd either need to keep playing all four years or start working. He honestly wouldn't mind playing all four years if he could be a part time player, because next semester, culinary internships began and he wanted to focus on that, he already had restaurants lined up calling for him.
