Chapter 25:
Cole's POV:
After we were taken back to the police station, we each had a chance to give our statements.
Mine was the only one believed though. We actually had evidence.
Simon and his men found large quantities of the Ma Huang herb in the house Nick and Lily were living in. It was also found in Lily's bloodstream, so we were able to prove that Nick drugged her. Nick was found guilty and is now being hauled off back to the institute he spent most of his childhood in.
Lily is being held in a holding cell while the drug is still in her system. It should only be another day until the herb is fully out of her system. Then she can give her statement to the cops and we can get our lives back to normal.

Walking into the station, I'm greeted by Simon.
"You can see her now," he tells me with a smile.
My heart throbs in anticipation, I nod and follow him down the hall toward the room that holds my love.
I gulp and nod at him to open the door.
The door opens and Lily is revealed. She stands there looking nervous. Her eyes fall on me. They start to well with tears, and she launches herself into my arms.
"Cole, I'm so sorry!" she weeps,"He messed with my mind. I truly thought you were the bad guy-"
I hush her, as I run my hand through her hair,"I know what he did. I don't blame you for hating me," I tell her,"It's alright, that's in the past. Just never look back."
She nods and and clutches onto me tighter.
She suddenly pulls back and smiles at me,"Yes!"
I frown,"Yes?"
She nods vigorously,"I will marry you!"
A smile stretches across my lips. I crush her into a hug and lift her into the air, spinning her around.
I hear a chorus of 'Awes' from the hallway behind me.
Glancing back, I see a bunch of woman cops swooning over Lily's declaration.
I smile and turn back to Lily, I lean forward and give her the kiss I have been waiting to give her since the night she was taken by Nick.

Okay so only the epilogue is next. I know these last few chapters are short, but hey its better than nothing.
