Going Home

*Peeta's POV*

I fell asleep shortly after Katniss did, and I woke up to a scream. It wasn't Katniss's scream though. I looked up to see my daughter getting red in the face, and Katniss in the hospital bed covering her ears with a pillow. I went over to Willow, trying to calm her down, but with everything that I tried, she wouldn't stop. I started to shake my wife to wake her up. Maybe she could get her to stop crying.

"Katniss. Willow's crying. I can't get her to stop. Maybe she's hungry or something." She rolls over onto her other side, and eventually gets out of bed, wincing as she stands. She must still be in pain from child birth.

Almost instantly when she touches Willow, her crying diminishes, and Willow just stares up at her mother. I take a mental picture of it and remind myself to paint it later.

"Mr. and Mrs. Mellark?" We turn around and see a doctor at the door. "You and your daughter can go home at anytime you'd like. We have some pills for the mother's pain, and if anything should happen, call and let us know. The discharge papers will be on the receptionist's desk here in the maternity ward." He turns and walks out before we could ask any questions, if, in fact, we had any.

"Katniss, would you like to go home now? I can go get the baby carrier from the car and when we get home, I can finish putting Willow's room together."

"Yes. All I want is to sleep in my own bed."

And so we go. Back to our home. All three of us.

A/N: Okay, so it's super short and I haven't updated in a while, but I've been swamped. Again. School just keeps getting in the way of everything. On a completely unrelated side note, the guy I like and I are hanging out! Not right now, but we will! I'm totally excited! And really nervous... 😅 Yeah, I guess that emoji fits. Whatever. I'm on vacation till Monday, but I've got a lot of homework to do, so hopefully I can at least get another chapter out in the next week.
