Chapter 3: He's Kissing Her
Sebastian's Point Of View
"Please welcome, Louise Sandoval, our birthday celebrant and his partner tonight, Sebastian Generales!" From behind of this thick and expensive maroon curtain I heard the emcee called our names. 
"Don't be so nervous, Seb. This night will serve as your birthday present to me. Thank you for accepting my invitation." Louise sincerly said. He moved one step before bending his head to reach my forehead. 
I don't know what happened next. But the thing I could remember is Louise kissed me on my forehead before the curtain opened and everyone saw us standing behind of it. 
He mouthed 'Thank you,' before facing the crowd. The spotlight hitted us and I could barely see the broad back of Louise's being. Applause surrounded the entire club as I and Louise walked at the aisle until we reached the main stage. The emcee leave the stage as he handed the mic to my bestfriend and let him stand behind the podium and speak. I was in his back. Watching everyone mezmerized how Louise speak for his birthday. 
He cleared his throat like there is a big lump inside of it that stop him to speak. "First of all, thank you coming tonight. To my nieces, nephews, family and friends and especially to the person behind me." He started and looked at me. 
Louise gave me a sweetest smile that I could see the whiteness of his teeth. I used the back of my hand to cover my sight, I can't see my bestfriend because of the spotlight. Click of cameras are everywhere. 
Bigla kong naalala ang newspaper ng school namin para bukas. Malamang sa malamang, kami ni Louise ang front page 'nun bukas.
Mabuti nalang at nagsalita agad ang kaibigan ko kaya bumalik muli ang maayos na paningin ko sa paligid. Medyo naging malabo lang dahil sa nakatuktok na spotlight sakin kanina. 
"Kung hindi dahil sa lalaking ito, hindi ako makakalakad sa gitna ng mag-isa. Hindi siya tumanggi nang tinanong ko siya kung pwede siyang maging partner ko ngayong gabi. Gladly, he always supporting me in everything kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa lalaking 'to. Would I lend everyone's hand to give my bestfriend an around of applause?" 
For the third time, puro kamera at spotlight lang ang nakatutok sakin dahil sa walang sawang pagpapasalamat at papuri ni Louise sakin. Tsaka kaibigan ko naman siya. Bakit kailangan kong tumanggi? May magagalit ba? 
Wala namang siyang girlfriend and far as I know. Kaya I am sure na walang magagalit. Not unless Louise speak up again. Bumaling ang paningin ko sa VIP seat ng club. I saw Lach. 
Walang emosyon ang mga mata. Nakasimangot. Hindi tulad kanina bago kami pumasok sa loob ng venue. He seems alright earlier but I don't know what happened after why he looked... mad?
Baka dahil kay Kim? Bruha talaga ang babaeng 'yun! Lagi nalang binabad-trip ang kaibigan ko! Kapag nakita ko talaga siya, isang magkambal na sampal ang igagawad ko sa kaniyang pangit siya! 
Speaking of Kim, bakit walang katabi sa bakanteng upuan sa tabi ni Lach? Nasan ang impaktang babaeng 'yon at hinayaan si Lach na mag-isang nakaupo doon sa unahan. Hindi ba niya alam na ayaw nung tao na may ibang katabi unless kilala ni Lach yung tatabi sa kaniya?
