A day later and Corbyn heard a knock at his hospital door as he was sneakily eating his second pudding cup.

"It's always open" Corbyn said, quickly swallowing down the chocolate, licking around his lips.

But in walked a boy who was almost a stranger, it was Daniel. The brunette smiled as he carefully closed the door again, assuming it was closed for a reason.

"Hello" Corbyn smiled "lost again?"

"O- Oh, no" Daniel nervously laughed "I came just to say th- thank you"

"You're welcome" Corbyn laughed "I've helped a lot of people with directions before, but none of them have came back to thank me"

Daniel shrugged, as he handed the blonde a get well soon card. Corbyn frowned, something he didn't like doing, as he accepted the cardboard.

"Your room is decorated, so I guessed it was something serious" Daniel fiddled with his fingers.

"I have cystic fibrosis" Corbyn plastered a smile on his face, putting the card on his bed. "So what's the real reason you came to visit me? Did you accidentally buy two cards?" Corbyn laughed.

"I just wanted to thank you.." Daniel trailed off.

Corbyn gave Daniel his 'I know that's not it' look as he smiled.

"My friend is still in the hospital, he needs to have surgery and I didn't want him to wait alone" Daniel wiped his teary eyes.

"What surgery does he need to have.. if you don't mind me asking" Corbyn threw his chocolate pudding in the trash can.

"His leg needs to get amputated" Daniel swallowed thickly. "He was in a car crash, so were his parents and siblings. That's why I'm the only one who's been visiting him"

"That's good that you're there for your friend. Jonah and I have been through basically everything together" Corbyn smiled.

Daniel sat down on the chair, as he watched out for Corbyn's medical equipment. The two spoke for a few hours, as a nurse came in to help put some food in Corbyn's gastrostomy tube in his stomach.

Daniel watched as Corbyn could do it himself, and clean it out. The blonde apologised and gently laughed.

"No, it's alright. T- that's kind of cool" Daniel smiled.

"I'm just use to it now" Corbyn smiled. "When is your friend suppose to come out of surgery? You haven't even told me his name"

"In around twenty minutes, his names Zach. I only met him in sophomore year, he was a freshman" Daniel smiled, pulling out his phone to show Corbyn a photo.

The photo was of the two boys playing basketball, both of them were jerseys with '2' and '31' on the back.

"I picked the number two because it's my birthday" Daniel smiled "and Zach just randomly picked a number"

"I wish I had the chance to play sports" Corbyn always had a smile on his face.

"You're so smiley" Daniel laughed "from the few hours I've been talking to you, you seem like a happy person"

Corbyn nodded, as he wondered around his hospital room that had became all too familiar for him.

"It's been forty minutes" Corbyn smiled "Can I come with you to see your friend? Or is that a bit weird?"
