Chapter 16

                                    

                                          
Jasper covered her eyes as a blinding light grew from what used to be Pearl and Garnet. She growled, her helmet appearing in a flash. Soon, the light exploded into butterflies, a tall figure standing their, her usually happy and lighthearted attitude gone without a trace.
                          
"Jasper, you have lost. If you leave, we'll let you go without a fight." The fusion simply stated, summoning Pearl's spear and one of Garnet's gauntlets to fusing them to make a hammer.
                          
Jasper cracked her knuckles with a smirk. "What makes you think I'm not up for a fight? Even if you're a fusion." Sardonyx nodded, lifting her hammer up. "Do not expect me to let you leave if you give up." And with that, she charged.
                          
Jasper quickly dodged as the hammer slammed down where she used to stand, but Sardonyx quickly twisted her arms around and hit her. Jasper growled, standing up and charging again, only to be kicked down. "Prepare yourself." Sardonyx said.
                          
Jasper squirmed as she was pinned by Sardonyx's giant foot, trying to free herself as the fusion lifted the hammer as high as they could. She notice the impact would smash her gem. "W-wait! You wouldn't shatter me, would you?" She asked.
                          
Sardonyx froze, seeming to be heavily thinking about it. "Isn't it apart of your rules or something?" Jasper continued. She felt the foot on her lift for a second, and that was all she needed to kick it off and run. 
                          
Sardonyx noticed too late, and took a weary step back as Jasper reached her destination. "Stop. She's fragile.." Sardonyx said as Jasper roughly lifted up the unconscious Connie by her arm. "Or what? You'll smash us both?" She taunted, softly waving the human around.
                          
Sardonyx seemed to be unsure, and began to talk to herself. "Unfuse, otherwise I can hurt this human." Jasper threatened, curling one of her hands into a fist and glaring at Connie. "Alright, but only if you put her down." Sardonyx demanded. Jasper let out a long, disgusted sigh. "Fine."
                          
Sardonyx was once again engulfed in light as she shrank, before two figure could be seen. Garnet and Pearl stepped away from each other, refraining from summoning their weapons. "Good, good." Jasper said slyly. "Now put Connie down!" Pearl yelled.
                          
Jasper rolled her eyes and let Connie slip out of her grasp and onto the sand. "Now, what do you want?" Garnet asked, slowly taking a step forwards. "You know how you told me to put the human down?" Jasper said, spitting the word human out as though it was the most disgusting thing she's ever said. She slowly lifted a leg up to knee height.
                          
"You didn't say anything about hurting her." "NO!" Pearl and Garnet screamed as Jaspers foot slammed down on Connie's head.
