"Make yourself at home. The guest room is next to Reese's. He'll show you." Mrs. Adler said.
The short evening with Reese's family yesterday was spent talking to his mom about my home life and discussing the plans for the week. For most of the time I was there, Reese stayed upstairs with Aiden— but with tonight being the first night of me staying over, his parents had to practically force him to show me around the house.
"Thank you Mrs. Adler, I really appreciate it."
"No problem at all. But I should get going, Don's waiting for me in the car. We're only going wine tasting so we won't be out too long. If you need something, Reese can assist you. Right, Reese?"
"Yeah.." he replied lowly.
"Alright. You two get along, I'll be back later." She said, leaving through the front door.
"Something tells me you don't want me here." I said to Reese.
"It's not that I don't want you here. Its just...odd." He said, looking me up and down.
"Well then...I'm sorry to invade your space. But I'm here, so could you show me the bathroom upstairs? I kind of want to shower."
"Adam's bad ass kids clogged the drain in the main bathroom, you're probably gonna want to shower in the one in my room."
Oh.
"That shouldn't be a problem."
"Cool. Follow me then." He said, heading up the stairs.
There was something 'odd' about being alone with Reese in his home. Up until yesterday, I'd barely even hung out with him outside of school. Spending hours on FaceTime felt a lot different than being next to him in his living room.
"You can put your stuff down in the bathroom. I'll go get you a towel and shit." Reese said, as we entered his room.
When he left me alone in his bathroom, it took everything I had not to open a drawer or a cabinet. This is all so...personal.
"Don't take a crazy long time Sierra. I need to go in after you." He said from the hall.
"I won't be too long."
"Oh and tomorrow's Saturday, so my mom is gonna want us to get out the house. Sunday too." Reese said, returning with the towel and wash cloth.
"Get out the house? Like to church?"
"No," he laughed. "Like to go get lunch, go to the mall, do something. She likes for me to enjoy the weekends."
Wow.
"Oh..that sounds like fun."
"Yeah it will be. Now hurry up and shower, I'm not tryna be up all night."

I was in my room, playing Madden as usual to pass the time.
I still hadn't asked my mom or Sierra exactly why she'd be staying here for a week, but from a bit of eavesdropping and context clues, I gathered that my my mom is helping Sierra out of her living situation.
After seeing how her grandfather pretty much dragged her out of the restaurant on Wednesday, it was safe to say that maybe things in her home weren't as great as I previously assumed.
My bathroom door opened, and out walked Sierra dressed in tight fitting shorts and a baggy t-shirt.
"I'm sorry. I took longer than I expected."
