"Adonis? Why are all those dishes in the sink?" I heard my mom say from the kitchen, as I was getting ready for school.
"I told Reese to do them last night. He wanted to cupcake on the phone instead."
"I wasn't cupcaking!" I said so they both could hear.
"I don't know what he calls it." My dad said.
"Come on Don, we've been teenagers before."
"I know but Farrah..the dishes."
"You can do them, Reese and I have to go soon."
"Me??"
"Yes, Adonis. You don't have to be at work until later."
I was running a bit late this morning. With today being the pep rally, many people would be going out together after school before going to the game. It was tradition.
With this, most of everyone would be looking their best..myself included.
I checked myself in the mirror one more time. I'm missing something.
I went into the kitchen, where my dad was annoyedly doing the dishes.
"Dad can I wear your chain?"
"Nigga you got me in trouble."
"I know, my bad. I owe you one." I told him.
"Mhm. Get it off my dresser."

"Are you sure about this?" I asked Aisha, who was styling my hair in a way I was never allowed to wear it.
"It looks cute. You should wear your hair out like this more often."
"My grandmother says that not pulling my hair up makes it look wild and messy."
"Well it isn't. I like it. Now, we only got like 5 minutes before the bell rings. Put this on." She said, pulling a shirt and jeans out of her backpack. "This is gonna look so bomb on you."
It felt weird wearing someone else's clothes..almost embarrassing that I had to borrow an outfit in order to look presentable.
"Aisha I don't know..."
"Don't worry, I've never worn it before. I think it'd look better on you anyways. Don't feel weird about it, people do it all the time."
"I've never worn anything like this before." I said examining the tight crop top and dark colored skinny jeans.
"There's a first time for everything. Now hurry and go change."

I was in philosophy class, and for some reason..Sierra wasn't there yet.
"Where's your lil girlfriend?" My teacher said, as more students took their place in the classroom.
"Sierra isn't my girlfriend, Mr. Marchand. And I don't know where she is."
"Better tell her to hurry, I'm not writing any late passes."
It was as if he spoke her up, because just as the bell rung, Sierra stepped into class.
The first thing I noticed was her appearance. Her hair wasn't pulled up and she wasn't dressed in her usual loose fitting sweater.
Today...was different.
I then noticed every guy's eyes following her body as she walked over to her seat— for some reason making me a bit uncomfortable.
"Hey Reese." She said sitting next to me, adjusting her hair.
