YOONGI and i walk back to my apartment after jin's funeral. we make our way through the towering buildings of seoul. thousands of questions race in my mind regarding everything that went down.

what did jungkook see? why was he acting so strange after seeing it? why did they have to leave all of a sudden? how come they still don't know what caused jin's death?

and who the hell did i see passing behind jin's tombstone?

"hana, are you okay?"

yoongi's concerned voice snaps me out of my dazed state. with my hands stuffed inside the pockets of my black coat, i look up at him with a kind smile. "i feel like you've been asking me that all day, yoongi."

"i'm just worried about you, hana," yoongi confesses. "i can't even imagine what you must be going through."

"it's rough," i simply reply, gazing towards the street.

everywhere i look, i'm reminded of jin. places where we created memories together come into sight. restaurants, cafés, art galleries, parks, movie theaters...

it terrifies me how this city screams your name.

"the least i could do is help you out. how about i let you sleep in my guest room for a while?" yoongi suggests, an earnest look in his eyes. "i don't like the idea of you staying alone at the apartment."

i stop in my tracks, thinking yoongi's offer over. i really don't like the idea of living at the apartment either, but i also don't want to be a bother or a hassle to yoongi.

"yoongi, that's really sweet but i don't want to impose."

"trust me, you won't! what kind of friend would i be to leave you there alone?" yoongi asks, opening up his arms as he awaits my answer.

"okay, i'll stay with you. but i still need to pack," i reply, attempting to continue walking but am immediately stopped by a pair of arms. yoongi has engulfed me in a tight hug. i give in to the hug, feeling that i could really use one.

as annoying as he may be sometimes, i could't ask for a better friend than yoongi.

"JUST gotta get some clothes and a couple of necessities before going over to your place," i state, shoving my key into my apartment door's keyhole.

darkness engulfs yoongi and i as we walk inside. you can tell there hasn't been a lot of movement in here for a while. it's quiet a depressing sight, to be honest.

"i'll go make us some tea while you pack," yoongi offers, leaving to go over to the kitchen.

i roam around the living room, observing jin and i's belongings. jin used to live in the apartment next door, but we basically began alternating apartments once we started dating.

my eyes land on a framed photograph sitting on the coffee table of the two of us. in the picture, jin is holding me by my waist as i rest my arms on his chest. you can sense the love between us from the image alone. jin looked so happy and... alive.

and now he's dead.

"hana!!!"

a sharp shriek is heard from the kitchen, coming from yoongi himself. i hastily part my eyes away from the picture frame and run to the kitchen.

i spot yoongi standing in the middle of the room, his whole body shaking. he looks at me with terrified eyes, pointing his finger shakily directly in front of him.

my eyes follow his finger, and they land on a man sitting on my kitchen countertop with a teacup in his hand. his legs dangle carelessly as yoongi and i observe him in fear. my body tenses up at the sight.

while i feel like i've never seen him in my life, he seems so familiar at the same time.

"sorry for not waiting up. got kind of thirsty after the funeral so i went ahead and made myself a cup of tea," he warmly smiles, taking a long sip.

after the funeral... now it all makes sense: he's the man i saw rush past jin's tombstone. the same man that possibly got jungkook and his goons all flustered.

this means trouble. but it also means that i'll finally be getting some answers.

"who are you?" i question, crossing my arms to seem more intimidating.

the stranger smirks before hopping off of the countertop and setting his mug aside.

for some reason, now that i see him more up close, he reminds me even more of someone.

"right. sorry for not introducing myself. i'm kim taehyung."

"is that supposed to mean anything to me?" i shrug. the name does not ring a bell.

kim taehyung clicks his tongue, he crosses his arms as he looks down at me, his wavy, black locks resting messily atop his forehead.

"sorry, that's on me. let me be more clear, i'm kim taehyung: kim seokjin's brother."
