Nanako and I we're watching her favorite tv show as Dojima brought a tray of two coffee's and one chocolate milk
''Nanako, here.'' Dojima says as he hands her the warn chocolate milk
''Looks good! Thanks daddy!'' Nanako says
Dojima handed me a cup of coffee
''You drink coffee, don't you?'' He asks with a worried smile
''Yeah, thank you.'' I say with a smile as he sighs with relief
''It's the least I can do. When I got married I promised Nanako's mom that no matter what I would always make coffee for the house. It's become a bit of a habit.'' Dojima says
''It tastes yummy!'' Nanako says
''Drink up while it's hot.'' Dojima says with a smile as I take a sip of the coffee
Bitter..
''So how is it?'' Dojima asks
''It's good, I like it.''
I don't like coffee....
''Hey daddy, will you read today?'' Nanako asks as she stands up and grabs a book
''Sure, which book you got there?'' Dojima asks
''This one!'' Nanako says happily, the front of the book showed a tree, it seemed to be a nature book
Then Dojima got a phone call
''Just a second.'' Dojima says as he picks up the phone in front of us
''Dojima here. He what!? Okay, on my way.'' Dojima says as Nanako looks sad
Dojima stands up and hangs up, then he grabs his jacket
''I'm sorry, I've got to work. I may not make it back tonight.'' Dojima says
''Alright, stay safe.''
''Have a good day...'' Nanako says sadly
''Yeah, thanks.'' Dojima says before leaving
As soon as he did Nanako started to tear up
''Nanako, it's okay. We can read the book together.'' I say as Nanako nods sadly and we both sit on the couch
''Sweetie... You know your dad works hard, right?'' I ask as Nanako nods
''Yeah...but he always when he promises something he breaks it...'' Nanako sniffles
''He wants to protect you, that's why he works late. He doesn't mean to make you upset. He really does love you, you know?''
''I know...'' Nanako sniffles
''It's okay, you can cry.'' I say as I pet her hair and she leans in to me and cries in to my shoulder softly
I let her cry out her feelings, when she was done I gave her the chocolate milk and let her calm down
''Should I read that book with you now?''
''Thank you, Yuui. You're the best big sister ever.'' Nanako says which makes me smile happily
