"merry christmas!" taeyong exclaimed as he entered his mom's bedroom. every year, the red haired boy would always go inside his mom's room and jump on her bed to wake her up. although this year, he woke up an hour later than usual, he still managed to wake his mom up for the holiday.

"good morning, yongie," his mom replied, sitting up in her bed and ruffling his son's hair. the red haired boy leaned into the touch before helping his mom out of the bed and making his way to the living room with his mom in his embrace.

jaehyun was in the kitchen, making breakfast. pancakes were baking and bacon was sizzling on the stove while the brown haired boy was scrambling the eggs he mixed earlier.

"breakfast is almost done," he said to the lee's, asking them to sit at their place on the table. taeyong and his mother sat on the small table inside the living room, waiting for the first meal of christmas to be served by taeyong's friend. after a few minutes, the brown haired boy brought over plates of food onto the table, the smell of breakfast filling the air in the living room.

"i didn't know you could cook," taeyong said, taking a bite out of his pancake and melting at the taste of the warm and soft bread. his friend just chuckled as he shook his head.

"it's nothing hard, just a typical holiday breakfast," jaehyun replied and watched as his crush's mom took a bite out of the pancakes he had made.

light shone in the woman's eyes as she looked at jaehyun. "mmmm! these are really good! soft and warm, not too chewy or dry. i should let you cook from now on."

"oh, it's nothing, mrs. lee," jaehyun's mood brightened up after hearing the compliment come from taeyong's mother, though he was able to contain most of is as to not scare anyone.

everything on the table was eaten up by the three people inside the small house within minutes. afterwards, taeyong and jaehyun did the dishes as the red haired boy's mother wiped down the table.

"yongie," the boy's mother called for her son. after the two young students finished up washing the dishes, the said boy arrived to where his mother was and sat down in front of her.

taking out a small box from behind her, taeyong looked at his mom and refused to take the gift. "no, mom, i can't..."

"please, take it. it's a gift," the woman nudged the gift to her son but the boy refused it once again. jaehyun was now making his way to where taeyong was and sat down beside him.

"no mom... i can't take this... being able to spend the holidays with you is already an amazing gift," the red haired boy said while pushing the gift back to his mom, causing the woman to sigh.

"please... take it. i bought it for you!" taeyong's mom exclaimed, happiness shown in her eyes whenever the gift came to mind. taeyong looked at her mom, then at jaehyun. the brown haired boy nodded his head slightly, signaling that taeyong should accept the gift. looking at his mom, the korean boy finally gave in to his mom's puppy dog eyes. besides, the boy loves his mom so much.

"thank you mom," taeyong said as he accepted the gift with two hands. then, he suddenly got up from his seat and headed to his room, returning in seconds with two small boxes in his hands.

"this is yours," taeyong handed his mom the box that was gift wrapped in pink paper, "and this is yours," taeyong handed jaehyun the box with red wrapping paper on it.

both his mom and his friend accepted the gifts he was giving them, and that's when jaehyun pulled out two boxes as well. he handed one with blue wrapping paper to his friend while the other with pink wrapped paper went to his friend's mother, followed by a series of 'thank you's from everyone.

taeyong's mother picked you both gifts from the boys, but before being able to open it, taeyong stopped her.

"hold on, mom," he said. the boy's mother looked at taeyong and jaehyun, telling the two that they have her attention.

"the wrapping paper has a meaning to it," jaehyun said, taeyong nodding along.

"the color pink is a delicate color that represents sweetness, kindness, and playfulness. it is usually used to represent females as a whole, but is, as all colors, a gender less color. both boys and girls can use it to express themselves as tender and romantic," taeyong explained to his mother. the woman awed in amusement before opening the gift given by her son first.

covering her mouth, taeyong's mom looked at her son's gift: an 18k gold necklace with a small heart charm that says 'forever'.

"taeyong... you shouldn't have..." his mom took out the necklace and looked at the charm admiringly. it was, without a doubt, very pretty, with a rose pattern outlining the words itself.

"i wanted to let you know that you're special, no matter how much i seem annoyed or frustrated by you. you are my mom, and will always be, forever. i love you so much, mom," taeyong said, leaning forward to embrace his mom in a hug. jaehyun cooed at the beautiful sight of family members hugging. he wished he could see his parents, but they were gone on a business trip and wouldn't be back until the new year.

taeyong helped his mother put on the necklace, and sat back in his spot and admired the necklace that he chose himself hanging around his mom's neck. "it's beautiful," she replied.

taeyong then gestured to jaehyun's gift that's in front of his mother, and she took a look at it. opening it carefully as to not damage the wrapping paper, she took out a box and looked inside, and what the box revealed after being opened shocked both taeyong and his mom.

a watch. it was very simple: roman numeral signs to represent the numbers, the watch itself was outlined in white silver with a buckle band that clips onto the wrist, but it meant so much to both taeyong and his mom.

"jaehyun, dear, you didn't need to..." the woman said to the brown haired boy after seeing the gift he bought for her. the said boy shook his head and insisted for her to accept the gift.

"i wanted to buy something special for you, for both of you. i'm not great with gifts... so i decided to buy a watch for you, mrs. lee," jaehyun rubbed his nape as he replied to the two shocked faces.

the woman smiled at jaehyun. "next time, you don't need to buy anything. having you here with taeyong to accompany me is already a big enough gift." jaehyun smiled at the woman and bowed down in respect. taeyong's mom put the watch onto her wrist and admired it.

"it is a very pretty watch," the woman said. taeyong nodded in agreement. "but next time, don't need to buy anything. and i apologize for not getting you a gift, dear. i wasn't aware that taeyong was bringing a friend along."

"it's ok, ma'am," jaehyun said. the woman smiled and leaned over to give jaehyun a hug, the said male returning the hug back to the woman.

now, it was taeyong's turn to open his gifts. he looked at the one that his friend had given him, and carefully opened the blue wrapping paper to see what was inside. opening the box that the present came in, taeyong covered his mouth in shock as he took out a bracelet.

the bracelet seemed to be handmade, with a leather braided pattern going around and a small charm attached to it. engraved inside had the letters 'L.T.Y' on it with a small heart.

the red haired boy clutched the bracelet to his heart and looked at jaehyun happily. "thank you so much!" he exclaimed as he put the bracelet around his left wrist.

"i handmade it myself..." jaehyun rubbed his nape once again, looking at the shocked faces of his friend and his friend's mother.

"it's beautiful," mrs. lee said to the brown haired boy, who replied with a simple 'thank you.'
