~Francine pov~
"Thank you so much for letting Alfred come over while I am out," Alice smiled at me as Alfred walked over to Matthew to give him a high five. "He would not stop bugging me about coming over," she laughed annoyed. "I know we never had a chance to talk but- I just wanted to say I was sorry," she became serious. I pulled her to the side and flashed the best smile I could. "It was bound to happen. We can't really be together, and we weren't going anywhere," I said sadly. She looked up at me sad, soon nodding."Mom! It's time for you to go already," Alfred said excitedly. "Right, I have to go," she smiled. I nodded at her as she exited the house. Was I missing my chance to tell her how I feel? I wanted more from our relationship. Matthew...he just needs me to wait before trying to get with her. I have not waited long, they just moved to France not too long ago. Alfred looked out the window and started to laugh. "Is she gone?" Matthew asked. "Yeah, she drove off!" They looked at each other suspiciously.
"What are the two of you up to?" I asked, concerned. However, they just turned to me with smirks on their face. "Let's go follow her, and see how the date goes!" Alfred laughed, and my eyes widened. "What! I am sure your mom might not like that," I said, a bit nervous. "What she doesn't know won't kill her. I just want to make sure she doesn't get into trouble...." he looked at me seriously, and I understood completely. She would be unable to defend herself if the date went south fast. I looked to Mattie, who seemed okay with going.
"Alright, fine! But only for a little bit. I don't want her catching us. Your mom can be scary sometimes," I said with a shiver. They both laughed at me and started to put their jackets on. "We can wear disguises like hats and mustaches," Alfred laughed. "That would be too obvious....let's just go in black," I said, and they jumped around excited. I guess watching her a little bit won't be as bad. I am curious to see how the date will turn out. I put on my running shoes and black coat, tucking in my hair to hide.

"Are you sure you know where you are going?" I asked Alfred. He was looking at his GPS on his phone as he led Matthew and me to the way. "Yes, she told me where she was meeting him," he was walking fast, and soon it started to look familiar. They were meeting at the pub we went to that one night. "They are meeting here and leaving somewhere else," Alfred said, hiding behind a car. "Look! There they are!" Alfred and I looked to where Matthew pointed, seeing the man she was meeting with. "Let's get closer."I pulled them with me as we kept hidden at a good distance. I saw Alice laughing and smiling, and I felt icky inside. "He seems pretty nice... what do you think Francine?" Alfred looked at me as he took out binoculars to watch them. There was no point in them, but he still used them. "He...he looks decent," I said. Matthew looked at me with a lifted brow. "He is lucky to be going on a date with my mom; anyone would be lucky to have her," Alfred smiled as he continued to watch.
"They are moving! Let's go, "Matthew pointed, and the three of us quickly moved to a different hiding spot. "Francine, I have a question," Alfred whispered. We all continued to follow behind them slowly. "What is it?" I asked in a whisper. "Do you like my mom?" His question made Mattie and I look at him, shocked. "Uhhhh," was all I could manage as my face turned red. "You don't have to answer; I just thought you had a thing for her for a while. But I guess I was wrong. I feel bad for messing with my mom all the time."
Alice and Antonio stopped, so we did as well. "What do you mean?" Asked Matthew. He was as curious as I was about what he said. "Oh well, don't tell my mom because she would be embarrassed. She was always smiling when the two of you messaged each other. I had never seen her that happy talking to someone. So I would joke around about the two of you liking each other. She was embarrassed, but I guess I felt bad about it. She needed a friend, and I am glad it's you. ..."
"But I mean...it would have been cool if you did," he whispered the last part. But Matthew and I still heard it. We looked at each other, and he had a face of "what the fuck," we both thought Alfred would have been pissed if I started to hit on his mom. But he was making jokes about us the whole time. "They are moving! Let's go," Alfred smiled. We followed behind him and saw Alice and Antonio just quietly strolling. I wonder where they are going? It was weird to be walking; the place must be close.
"Wait, Alfred.... you would not care?" Matthew asked. Alfred looked at him with a lifted eyebrow. "Nah, because then we would be brothers. Did you think about that?" I felt my face turning red as they talked about this in front of me. "Oh, I didn't think about it that way. It would be cool to be brothers," Matthew nodded in agreement. "I am right here, you know," I was so shocked at this conversation. "I wouldn't mind either; I was just worried you would mind it," Matthew said. "Dude! No way, I thought the same," Alfred laughed. "Shhhh, you all are loud," I shushed them and shook my head.
