The new Kira?

                                    

                                          
It has been 5 years since Kira died. People have tried to do their best to recreate what Kira had done, but since no one knows exactly how Kira killed, except for a few who were apart of the Kira investigation, and the SPK. After 2 years of the riots about Kira's death had been silenced. Groups about Kira were soon frowned upon, and in some countries even banned the mention of Kira. For the past 5 years, the world was trying to do it's best with removing Kira from people's everyday life. 
                          
After 5 years, it is 2018. There is this girl named Maranda, she used to be a supporter of Kira. I say used to because she can't express it anymore. She used to be apart of the riots her self and even was the one who helped design Kira t-shirts. She also requested her friend to create the Kira website.
                          
She is currently working as a restaurant manager for Moliere, a French restaurant in Sapporo Japan. She was one day walking home after a long day of work. Soon, she encountered a blue notebook in the park next to a trash can. She picked it up and the title read; Death Note. She decided to put it in her purse, she wanted to open it up at home. 
                          
Once she got home, she went into her silk white with grey striped pajamas, the stripes go vertically. She opened up the blue Death Note and saw the rules. They were the simple rules on the back of the cover, just like the original.
                          
Maranda couldn't believe that she had ahold of this, she thought out loud for a moment. 
                          
"If this is what Kira used to kill, could that mean I could be the next Kira?" She thought about it for a moment. "No, it's probably a prank. If it is real, I think that I should at least test it out." 
                          
She turned on the tv and looked at the news. She saw many criminals being shown and decided not to use one on tv. She decided to get on her computer and look up the names of a rapist in countries across the world. She decided that one in another country would be the best, and decided to go with a man in the United States, named Michael John, he is wanted for raping 4 underaged girls, and 6 other women, and kidnapping another 2 children. They haven't been able to find where he is to arrest him. 
                          
Maranda thought this over for a moment, she knew there was only one way to find out. She decided to write down his name, and some details. She wrote down; "Michael John tries to kidnap a girl at the age of 17, she managed to run in front of a police officer. Before Michael John could get away, he is shot 5 times, twice in the head, twice in the chest, and once in the left arm." 
                          
She then decided to get something for dinner. She reheated a bowl of ramen and had that with some spices, and salmon in it. She turned on the tv to a channel that was American because she was kinda bored with Japanese tv shows.
                          
She went past a news report about the man she wrote down, Micheal John. She changed the channel back to the news broadcast. She was amazed that actually worked. Then again, it was probably a coincidence. She knew she had to test it another time, but when, and on who? She had no idea. 
                          
The very next day, Maranda woke up, got dressed, and left the death note in her purse. She looked at the date, the 15th of September, 2018, her day off, she always got weekends off. She decided to get up and go walk around Sapporo Japan. She really liked to see the miniature shops that are there. She got lunch, basically a boring day. 
                          
After a while, she went to a movie store, wondering what animes were available for her to purchase, she was hoping to get something good, she ended up finding some, and decided to look some more. She went to a shelf where there was a clear view of the street. It was dark out, and the only thing that lit up the street where the lamp posts, and cars that drive by. 
                          
She looked up and saw the reflection of her and a man walking up to her. He had a knife to her back. 
                          
"Give me your money, phone, jewelry, and anything else that is valuable. I promise you that I won't kill you if you give them to me, but I promise that if you scream, I will kill you." 
                          
She thought for a small moment and started to pull everything out. She took what he wanted, and gave it to him. He left the death note and a pin.
                          
"I don't need these." He said as he slammed the notebook and pins on the shelf in front of her. 
He started to put in the stuff she had given him; "Ah yes, the pretty, valuable things that make you money in life." He said, his voice was groggy.
                          
Just as he walked to another shelf to look casual, Maranda got a look at his ID and wrote down his name. After 40 seconds, he started to jolt and scream in agony. He was having a heart attack, he tried to rip open his shirt to let people perform CPR, but by the time they got to him, he was already gone. 
                          
That confirmed it all for Maranda, she knew that this wasn't a prank and that they both died thanks to the death note, it was no coincidence. She was frightened that she now obtains this power, the very same power Kira had. She also knew that the police, L, or even N would come after her, at the same time, however, she wanted to be the next Kira, she wanted to finish what Kira started.
                          
She bought her anime and got all the stuff back that he took from her, and a little extra. Maranda ran back to her apartment and slammed the door shut. She was panicking, not sure what to think about this. All along she was supporting Kira, but now, she can support Kira by becoming Kira. 
                          
Maranda pulled out the notebook and held it in front of her. "This is insane, should I really keep this?" She said as she looking at this lethal weapon. "With this weapon, I can kill as many people as I want to. I have the power to only kill off criminals, and if need be, I could also kill anyone that stands in my way." She thought to her self. "But why would I want to do this? For world peace " She asked herself.
"Should I continue what Kira started? Or maybe lose ownership of the most dangerous weapon in the world." She kept pondering what she should do, then she got an email.
                          
Maranda went over to her computer and took a look at the email. It was an email about her friend closing the Kira website, and she will be closing it tomorrow. She looked through it one last time and looked at everything she said on the website. Maranda knew that she used to be a supporter, but she never thought that she supported Kira that much. She looked through her comments and articles that she had created on the website. Maranda knew exactly what she needed to do. 
                          
"The world doesn't need a new Kira, they didn't need one at all. What they needed were hope and justice. What people needed, was a new savior, not a new Kira, but a new punisher, a new executor." Said Maranda to herself out.
                          
The next day, Maranda went into her closet to find a leather coat she bought 3 years ago. She got an idea and thought of a plan. She went out and got some black cargo pants, and some black boots. She found an old black motorcycle helmet in a thrift store, as well as a pair of matching leather gloves. She brought them home and tried them on, they all fit, and they all looked wonderful.
                          
Now, she started to film herself making a speech, and got everything ready. She edited the background, and she even sent the video disk to her friend, making sure no evidence was left behind. She gave her friend specific instructions to play it 3 weeks later, on the 29th of September, 2018.
