HARRY'S HAND COVERS MINE while he leads me down the hallway to another large room on the first floor.

As we walk into the new space, I notice several guitars resting on stands and hanging on the wall. There are bookcases full of vinyl and a handful of hefty speakers and mics. A desk sits in the corner with two wide desktop screens, along with several office chairs and a wide sectional sofa.

My confusion about what Harry's up to only grows as he leads me to one of the office chairs.

"Here," he pulls the chair away from the desk. "Sit there."

I nod my head, sitting down as he directs. He walks behind me and starts clicking on the computer. My chair is facing the other direction and doesn't swivel, so I remain staring at the blank wall in front of me.

My theories begin to swirl.

I hear him moving behind me, then I feel a gentle touch on my back. Harry's fingers softly graze the bottom of my neck, pushing my long hair to the side.

I restrain the shiver that runs through my skin.

"Do you mind if I put these on?" His deep voice sounds. "They're pretty thick, so you won't hear anything once they cover your ears. But I'm just going to play something for you."

I see him hold a large pair of recording headphones in front of me. I shake my head with indifference, giving him permission as he carefully slides the headphones over my ears.

Everything suddenly sounds clouded – like I'm listening to the ocean through a large seashell. Harry remains behind me, out of eyesight, and that does nothing to decrease my nerves.

My heartbeat rises with apprehension.

I don't know what to do, so I just remain with my face forward, staring at the wall. I twiddle my fingers as they rest on top of my knees, waiting for the sound to come through. It feels like it takes millennia before I hear waves of the cymbal begin to play through the headphones. The sound crescendos and builds until Harry's quick yell comes through.

The beat suddenly changes. A strong vocal melody enters the song, creating a much more joyful sound than I'm expecting.

Doo, da, doo. Da, da, doo, doo, doo.

Doo, da, doo. Da, da, doo, doo, doo.

Doo, da, doo. Da, da, doo, doo, doo.

Doo, da, doo. Da, da, doo, doo, doo.

Golden, golden...

My stomach lurches inside me at the one word already echoing from the first verse. My eyes are as wide as the sky while I continue to look at the wall in front of me, unmoving. The twiddling of my fingers stops suddenly as my heart begins to beat so fast that I feel like I might vomit it right out of my throat.

Golden, as I open my eyes.

Hold it, focus, hoping, take me back to light.

I know, you were, way too bright for me. I'm –

Hopeless, broken,
