It was lunchtime, the members of the Literature club decided to have their lunch at the clubroom as opposed to the crowded cafeteria and classrooms.
(Y/N) was in front of the classroom as he skims through a pamphlet given to him regarding the school festival."Yea, I have no idea what to do." (Y/N) sighs in defeat. "How do you make something appealing with a Literature club?"
"We could do a library-esque thing where people could read some novels." Yuri suggested.
"Or manga." Natsuki said quietly.
"Yea, when the other classes and clubs have games, maid cafes and food the visitors will definitely go read!" Natalie said sarcastically. "We need something with more 'oomph'."
"Well, we could always do a reading! Or better yet, a stage play out of one of the books!" Sayori lightened up.
"That's a great idea Sayori!" Monika smiled. "But how do you think that will catch the interest of passerby's?"
"Hmm," Sayori rubs her chin and stares up the ceiling. "Maybe a story that's pretty popular with the main media. Like an adaptation of a visual novel." She turns to the person behind her who then proceeds to smile.
"W-well, I stumbled upon this game called heartbeat heartbeat Book lover club which is a popular visual novel with deep and immersive stories with characters that have—" Natsuki begins to smile as she begins explaining a good number of things she knows about visual novels.
"Mhmm..." Sayori listens very intently to her as she takes down notes, though having a hard time keeping up with Natsuki.
"Wow, I've never seen Sayori be this serious." Natalie looked at her, surprised.
"She gets way into it if she's doing it for something she loves. It's really weird if you're not used to her like this." MC chuckles.
"Alright!" (Y/N) gets up. "That's what we're doing then! Natsuki and err— ah Yuri. You two can be in charge of the story. MC, Sayori, Zane, Natalie. You guys are in charge of fliers and props. And I guess the rest can do costumes."
"""Alright!"""
"Hey MC! Let's go get some art supplies from the classroom!" Sayori invited him.
"You can do it yourself, it's not that heavy." MC rejected her. Sayori only pouted at him.
"You know if it's a visual novel, then another key element to its success is some erotic suits." Zane suggested. Everyone went silent and looked at him.
"E-erotic, huh?" (Y/N) chuckles. He looks over to Monika for a bit and she notices. He quickly averts his gaze but it was too late.
"You just had a lewd thought didn't you?" Monika's eyes squinted at him. (Y/N)'s face flushed red as his pupils went to the corner of his eyes.
"What? No not at all." He nervously chuckled. "Besides I don't think that would be appropriate, having everyone see you.. all of you in those kinds of clothes is... bad."
Monika chuckled. "You're very selfish aren't you?" She teased and winked at him.
(Y/N) went redder and yelped a bit. "Seriously! You're taking this way too differently!!"
MC looked at both of them with an annoyed face. He groaned and stood up. "On second thought, let's go." He grabbed Sayori and dragged her out.
"Couldn't handle the PDA, huh?" Sayori hit him with a snarky chuckle.
"Jeez, shut up Sayori! I've moved on."
"Doesn't seem like it though." Her smirk turned into a light smile. MC didn't respond and went to the classroom.
They went to the back lockers and searched for some paper, colors, and other supplies that they might need for their club. MC opened his locker and grabbed a few pencils and a pad of bond paper he never used. Sayori bent down to the bottom row of lockers for hers and reached in trying to find something somewhere in the cluttered storage.
"Aha!" Sayori yells victoriously as she grabs hold of something. When she pulled back and rose she bumped her head on the locker causing it to mildly shake, a stack of books on top of the lockers fell on her head. "Oof." She groaned.
"Waah! Sayori! A-are you ok?" MC worriedly crouched down. Sayori caressed the top of her head and flinched.
"I'm fine!" She smiled, nodding to casually hide the part that hurts with her bangs. MC wasn't convinced and combed her hair up revealing a slight bruise on her head.
"We need to get you to the nurse!" MC panicked. He ran out for a bit and shortly returned with a cold bottle of water.
"Oh thanks." Sayori grabbed the bottle and opened it up. She took a big gulp and sighed with quench.
"It's for your head dammit!" He took the bottle from her and lightly pressed it against the bruise. "You need to be more careful."
Sayori let out a light chuckle. "You know it's always like this." MC looked at her quizzically. "We always played around as kids and I would recklessly get hurt, I'd cry so much!" She laughed. "Then you would come running and try to get me to stop."
"Well duh, you were the girl. I felt like I would get in trouble if you got hurt and cried." He chuckled. "Even until now, it's still the same routine, huh?"
Sayori's smile went light and she sighed. "I hope it could stay like this."
"What do you mean?" MC looked at her. "I mean, what could happen that everything could change."
Sayori stayed silent. MC smiled and patted her head.
"Don't worry, whatever will happen... I'll always be there for you."
"......ehehehe." Sayori bowed down her head to hide her face. She sniffed and quickly stood up. "Well let's go, they're probably wondering where we are now."
"Shouldn't you go to the clinic first? Your head might get swollen."
"Nah." She giggled. "Thanks to you, I feel better already."
"Is cold compress really that effective?" MC looked in awe at the bottle.
