Jack's POV:
Today was the day, after all this time I was finally going to do it, I was finally going to make Kirsty some pancakes. Specifically crepes. She's been begging me for like a month to make them so I decided to put my patisserie to the test. I had just woken up and googling the recipe, making sure I bought the right ingredients yesterday. Kirsty was still asleep next to me, it was time to tell her the joyous news. I rolled onto my side and rubbed her arm, I kissed the side of her neck lightly."Squishy...Little Squish...I have a surprise for you." I cooed softly into her ear, she stirred and finally opened her eyes.
"Good morning Bubs, would you like me to make you some pancakes?" I tempted her, preparing myself for her excited little face. But she just curled up into a ball whimpering.
"No thanks." She said sadly, this is so unlike Kirsty. She loves when I cook for her and she was buzzing for me to make her pancakes.
"Why not, you've been asking me to make them for ages. What's the matter, Baby Girl?" I asked her, I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her close to my chest.
"I feel yucky." She whimpered sadly. Oh no, my Baby was poorly.
"Aww Sweetheart, is your tummy hurting you?" I asked her, she nodded and buried her face into my chest. That explains why she doesn't want any food, I felt so bad for her.
"Baby, I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. Can I get you anything?" I asked, I wanted to help. I hate when Kirsty's not feeling well.
"Umm...can I have a glass of water please, Jack?" She asked somewhat shyly, probably just because she hates feeling like a burden, she really wasn't and I don't mind taking care of her.
"Of course Kirsty, I'll be right back." I got up from the bed and made my way to the kitchen, as I filled up her glass Vogue ran around my legs with her little tail wagging.
"I'm sorry Princess, I can't play right now. I have to look after your Mummy, do you want to go see her?" I asked the puppy, she barked at me really sweetly so I bent down and picked her up with one arm and held Kirsty's water in the other. I took them back to the bedroom, poor Kirsty was curled up in a ball holding her stomach and clearly in pain. I put Vogue down at the end of the bed for a second.
"Squish, I'm back. Do you want a soluble paracetamol for your water?" I asked her, it would help her a lot. She looked up at me with sick puppy eyes.
"Y-Yes please." She whimpered, aww my poor Baby. I looked in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom and found some soluble paracetamol for Kirsty's drink, I read the back of the box as I walked back to the bedroom. Two tablets needed to go in the water, I plopped them in and they started dissolving.
"This might make the water not taste very nice, Bubs. I'll get you a fresh one in a minute." I explained, I picked up the glass and passed it to her. Her hands were shaking as she held it, I steadied them in mine. She drank the whole glass before lying back down, she was shivering.
"Oh Baby, I think you might have a fever." I told her, I felt her forehead and cupped her cheeks. She was really warm. I covered her up in blankets, made sure she was comfortable. I then picked up Vogue and sat her down with Kirsty for a cuddle.
"I'll let you have some peace and quiet for a while so you can sleep, okay Baby?" I asked her, she nodded weakly into Vogue's fur.
"If you need anything at all or start feeling worse then come to me, I'll most likely be in the living room. I love you Baby Squish, hope you start feeling better soon." I said softly before kissing Kirsty's forehead.
"Love you too, Jackie." She whispered before settling down for a nap. I left the bedroom, closing the door behind me to block out any noise I might make. Oh, I almost forgot about getting Kirsty a fresh glass of water. I went back to the kitchen and filled up her flask bottle to keep the water cold and not a gross room temperature, I tip toed my way back into the bedroom and replaced the glass with the flask on the bedside table. Kirsty had already fallen asleep again, she must be feeling awful, at least cuddling with Vogue made here a bit more comfortable. I left the room again and went to the living room, it was a mess. Marks on the coffee table from old mugs, magazines literally everywhere, cushions scattered across the floor. I should probably clean this up.
Kirsty's POV:
I hadn't felt so sick in a long time, my tummy ached so bad. It was proper acidic. I started feeling really nauseous after Jack left me on my own, I managed to sleep for a little while but now I was in a stage of just snoozing. My stomach was hurting too much for me to sleep, the paracetamol didn't really do much for me either. I curled my legs up to my chest in pain, I felt really sick. I wanted Jack."Jack...Jack." I called out weakly, I was so tired but just couldn't sleep. I heard his footsteps along the landing, getting louder as he came closer. He opened the door, a sympathetic looks spread on his face.
"I'm here Squish, what's the matter?" He asked me, kneeling down next to the bed and rubbing my leg over the duvet.
"My tummy hurts!" I whimpered sadly, I just wanted snuggles and for the pain to go away.
"Aww I know Baby, I know your tummy's not feeling good. Do you have to throw up?" Jack asked me, it was becoming even harder to swallow down the nausea. I nodded, I suddenly felt last nights dinner making its way up my throat. I slapped my hand over my mouth and quickly ran past Jack to get to the bathroom, I lifted up the toilet lid before I gagged. My stomach contents poured out my mouth, I hated this so much! I felt a hand running up and down my back from under my top that was making me shiver but it was calming, I then felt my hair being gently pulled back behind my ears.
"Poor Baby, you're doing really well. Just keep breathing." Jack said from behind me in a nice calming tone, helping me through this traumatic experience. I threw up three more times, crying the whole time and hardly able to catch my breath between gags. It was horrible. I finally finished being sick, I leaned into Jack's chest. I was exhausted. Jack flushed the toilet before cradling me in his arms, lightly rocking me to get me to calm down.
"I'm so sorry you're sick, Sweetheart." Jack said softly before kissing my forehead.
"Feel a little better now?" Jack asked me. My stomach still hurt really bad, but not as queasy as earlier.
"Less sickie, but I still feel yucky." I replied sadly.
"Do you want to go back to bed or lie down on the sofa for a bit?" Jack asked me.
"I want my bed." I whined, it was comfy and warm in there.
"Okay Baby." He said, he grabbed my thighs and hoisted me up gently. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he carried me bridal style back to bed, he laid me down and covered me up with the duvet and a couple blankets to keep me warm. He crawled into bed next to me and stroked my hair.
"I'll stay right here, Squish." He whispered softly.
"Can we snuggle?" I asked him.
"Of course Baby, come here." He replied, lifting up his side of the duvet. I sat down on his lap, he was sat up against the headboard, he cradled me again like a baby.
"Do you want me to rub your tummy?" He asked me, I nodded into his chest. He slipped his hand under my top and rubbed small circles on my belly, it felt really nice and helped with the pain. I sighed softly as I left myself melt into his touch.
"Is it helping?" Jack asked me, I nodded again and closed my eyes.
"I might fall asleep, Jack." I warned him, it was a very comforting touch and it made me feel sleepy.
"That's alright Baby, just rest. It'll help you feel better." He said, he was so understanding. I loved him for that.
"I love you so much Bubba." I said sleepily.
"I love you too Baby Squish, sweet dreams." He whispered, kissing me on the forehead again. I then settled down and managed to fall asleep again.
Later that evening, I was lying on the sofa with a hot water bottle on my tummy. Jack had made me chicken broth for dinner, I didn't eat much of it but it was nice, we watched a lot of movies though. I noticed that he also cleaned up the living room too, he couldn't have done enough for me.
"When you're feeling better, I'll make you some crepes as promised." Jack said looking down at me.
"I've rather lost the taste for crepes actually, could you make me doughnuts instead please?" I asked giving him puppy eyes.
"How about I just buy you some Krispy Kremes, doughnuts might just be a step too far when it comes to my baking skills." Jack compromised, I agreed to that.
After a couple more days of snuggling and belly rubs, many discussions about breakfast food, I felt a lot better and we ate loads of doughnuts. Te He.
