"hey pony!" i yelled. he jumped in fear. "hey. dont scare me like that." he said with tiny bit of frustration in his voice. pony got in an argument with darry again and he and johnny stayed there the night.
johnny is my best friend. hes been having problems at home for the longest time but he couldnt stay at my house anymore because my parents think theres more going on between us. "wheres johnny?" i asked as i sat next to ponyboy.
"i dont know he was gone before i woke up." he replied getting comfortable. he stared into the distance. almost as if he wanted to go there.
i put my hand on his shoulder and let it travel down. "dont worry ponyboy. darry just wants the best for you." i said sympathetically.
i layed my head on his shoulder. "thank you for making life a little sweeter. i appreciate how much effort you put into my happiness." he spoke not taking his eyes away from the sky.
i turned to him and kissed him. i pulled away and he was in shock. "why would you do that?" he asked. "because i like you, ponyboy. i have for a long time." i said.
"ive liked you too."
