Summary: Ending two

Kara was right. If you truly loved Lena, you would leave. She didn't deserve to constantly be harassed to forgive you so you checked yourself into rehab. It would be the only thing that would truly help you with your addiction. And it did. You had stayed in the rehab center for almost a full year. Not wanting to take the risk of relapsing. Alcohol addiction had the highest percentage of relapsing and you weren't going to take the chance. There were days after being released that you wanted to go out and buy some but you always ended up calling your sponsor from the AA meetings to help you with your thoughts.

You hadn't heard from Lena in almost two years. Yes, you heard of all the wonderful things she was doing in L-Corp but it wasn't the same as talking to her. It still killed you to see her with Kara at every one of those public events but it didn't matter because Lena was truly happy. She finally found someone that deserved her love.

Or so you thought. There was some insistent knocking at your door in the middle of the night. Grabbing your phone, you checked to see who was knocking. When you realized who it was, you quickly put on your robe and rushed downstairs to open the door for you.

Lena fell into your arms, crying when you opened the door.

"She lied to me, (y/n). All this time, she lied to me about who she was."

"Lena, take a deep breath for me and lets head to the living room so you can be more comfortable."

You ignored the warm feeling from her embrace and helped her walk to the couch, where she yet again cuddled up beside you. It seemed to bring her comfort so you didn't move her.

"What happened?"

"Kara lied. She claimed to love me but was lying to me behind my back. Everyone that she cares about was in on it as well. They claimed to be my friends but they were all keeping it from me."

You gently rubbed her back to comfort her as best as you could

"I'm sorry Lena. You didn't deserve that."

She scoffs and abruptly pulls herself away from you.

"I apparently don't deserve anything. I don't deserve love. I've had two failed relationships and I know that there are more waiting for me."

"Lena, that was not your fault. M-my alcohol addiction was not your fault. You did everything you could to help me. Kara's lies were not your fault."

She stands up, wiping her tears away and shaking her head.

"This was a mistake."

"Lena please. At least stay the night and then you don't have to ever talk to me again."

Lena didn't really want to bother her driver or call a cab this late so she nodded.

"That works for me."

You led her to your spare bedroom, giving her some pjs to sleep in and then bid her goodnight.

It wasn't until you were in your room that you let yourself cry. You didn't think it would hurt to be this close to Lena again but it did. The room was so quiet and you desperately wanted to take a drink to quiet your thoughts. Not wanting to set yourself back, you called your sponsor. Telling her what had happened. She helped you calm down a little and that allowed you to finally head out of your room to drink some water.

Lena heard some crying but she didn't it was coming from you. She quietly climbed out of bed and moved closer to the door to be be able to hear what was going on. When she realized that it was in fact coming from your room, she wanted to go in there and comfort you as well but stopped when she heard what was being said. Lena couldn't believe her ears when she heard who you were talking to. She waiting until you headed out of your room to follow after you.

"What happened to you after we met at the bar?"

You were startled by the sudden appearance of a voice, making you drop your glass.

"Shit, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare to."

"Don't apologize. I was just thinking too loudly."

The two of you quickly set to work on cleaning up the mess.

"I um. Checked myself into rehab for about a year. Found myself a job and when I realized that the temptations to drink were still there, signed myself up for AA meetings."

Lena nodded. Unsure of what to really say.

"Have they been helping?"

"They have. I mean there are times that I really want to go out to the store and buy some alcohol but I force myself to call my sponsor."

"Is that who you were talking to earlier."

"Yes."

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..."

"Don't apologize Lena. You didn't do anything wrong."

"So why did you have go call your sponsor?"

There was no reason to lie so you told her the truth.

"Because I still love you Lena but I reminded myself that I don't deserve you."

Lena had to admit to herself that she still held some feelings for you but she knew it wasn't a good idea to jump into a relationship so soon.

"We can't get those years back that we spent together but we can build new memories, start out fresh. You were a good friend before all the drinking happened. I'd like to be friends again."

You could do friends. You missed her.

"I'd like that too."

Perhaps not today or tomorrow but it was possible that maybe you and Lena could have something more again.
