it was originally going to be called "water AU" so this is a bit of an upgrade xD (do you like my use of 2009 emojis? v sophisticated)
concept: everyone is something in the water. Right that makes no sense alright let's just list what everyone is
Stress - mermaid queen
Cleo - pirate captain
False - Cleo's first mate
Joe - leader of the gang of sirens
EX - siren
Scar - pirate
Cub - siren
Ren - pirate
Xisuma - mermaid
Doc - pirate
Python - mermaid
Wels - mermaid
Jevin - siren
Zed - mermaid
Tango - siren
Impulse - pirate
Iskall - pirate
Grian - siren
Mumbo - mermaid

Other notes:
- you can't argue that Tanghoe wouldn't be a siren, the [redacted] bastard
- you also can't argue that Doc wouldn't be a pirate
- Stress has a bunch of jewelry made of ice (don't mind the fact that ice melts in water)

- sirens sing to seduce. [redacted AGHHHH] sings a lot. It just works

- instead of a parrot, the pirate crew has cats than can lay down on their shoulders
[2022: actually the cats thing is more historically accurate cuz they had cats to control the rats/mice]
- mermaid kingdom has tridents, pirate crew has cutlasses, and siren gang has their voices (and claws)
- when the sirens lure people underwater, they look beautiful (or in this case handsome ig) but just before they drown people they show their true forms; absolutely terrifying monsters
- the mermaids are always trying to protect the pirates from the sirens by chucking their tridents and trying to quickly break the spell
- the pirates can't tell the difference between the mermaids and sirens (cuz they're dumb- ) so they're always trying to capture the mermaids for money. If they end up capturing a siren, well they're fucked
- why do i always make out the humans as the bad ones in my AUs wtf-
