(The Winter of 1872)
~
Wails and screaming from the town of Cockscold could be heard as mothers cried while fathers shouted profanities at the loss of their children. It was as if a plague had fallen amongst the town's people.
You may call it the consequences, Karma, or reaping what they sowed, Cockscold was drowning in sorrow.
Mr.Deven eyed the board in his living room consisting of all the missing children
"Eddie, Carlos, Grayson, Leonard, Vicky, Sue, and Linda; they all disappeared in one night" Holding his head, his eyes shut unconsciously due to lack of sleep and frustration. Jolting out of a sunken state by a loud knock on the door, Mr. Deven gruffed out profanities at the thought of guests.
"Who's there?"
"Richhound"
Slipping out of the couch littered with paper, Mr. Deven opened the door for the grieving man, as he entered with his head held down, face red and bruised.
"Are you okay Mr.Richhound?" Mr.Deven asked though already knowing the answer.
"No, that's why I'm here" Ricchound stated sitting on the couch which Mr.Deven not too long ago got up from in efforts of opening his door.
"What seems to be wrong?" Deven asked trying to sound compassionate but due to wariness, it came out aggressive and cold.
Solemnly Richhound spoke"Nine more kids have gone missing"
Mr.Deven hissed as he eyed the board once again
Nine!!
That's 23 kids under the age of 19 disappearing in the middle of the night.
"Are the people been following the tale, the instructions!?" Deven shouted frantically gripping his papers to write down the missing kids he was just informed on. With trembling hands, he eyed Richhound wildly.
"We live on the tale Mr.Deven !! Our window panes are bolted shut! Our kids are lying in our room where we are and still they evaporate into thin air!!" Richhound shouted as he paced, he was tired of the man questioning their compliance.
With a sharp sigh, Mr.Deven rubbed his chin, there had to be some fault.
There had to be something he could do

Three days' journey, wherever the knight, had taken the kids took three days journey. Persephone seemed still in a state of shock, seeming as if she had locked down or shut off. Bobby missed hearing her voice, her giggles, and her nose scrunching when she's aggravated. Know all she did was look out into the distance in pain.
